    Hello Everybody,

I was wondering if anybody has this issue (or if it even comes with it), but I have a 2015 Sport Prerunner which doesn't have the simple feature of automatic door locking when you put the car into drive. I just assumed when I purchased the vehicle that this specific truck didn't have that feature....I should've asked.

My 2015 TRD OR does not have an auto door lock either - I wish it did.

As I understand it, this feature/capability requires an (OEM or after-market) alarm system. Supposedly, no other way to enable it.

My brother has the 2016, and he has the feature located on his entune stereo to control the door locking mechanism. I was curious maybe I had a power issue, but it seems I was correct that this feature wasn't installed.

Our 13 4Runner sr5 engages the locks as soon as it hits reverse after start up. It has no alarm and isn't trd or limited. That's nuts it's not standard on the trucks. It's far from being new tech

I agree. Nothing new about it, but I have yet to find a way to enable it (without an alarm).

I'm sure it's doable but it may require a stereo guy playing with it a bit to figure out. Load resistors and momentary switching and such

    This.

I will say Ford has it right on their newer cars. The driver has the option to disable/enable a lot of these features instead of having to take it to the dealer to disable something as stupid as the seat belt chime.

First world problems.... just press the lock button everytime you get in the truck since your hand is already on the inside door handle

I drove a 1990 Dodge Dynasty in high school that had the auto-locking feature. My 2009 TRD Off Road does not.

Jokes aside, I prefer it without.

Mine locks the doors when I turn the key on and it bugs the shit out of me. I couldn't tell you why or how, I bought it used and assumed that's the way power door locks work.

Do you have a aftermarket alarm? I bet it can be programmed not to do that.

Dealer told me that the 2016 Tacoma has this feature and can be engaged/disengaged on the Entune. This is the way it is on my wifes 2015 Corolla LE.
