Ok, another newbie. So, Hello all! I am 99.9% sure I will be getting a Toyota Tacoma this weekend. This will be my first Tacoma or any Toyota for that matter, but am convinced they can't be beat on quality (not sure about service yet?). So, my wife and I are really excited about setting the old Dodge 2500 Cummins to the side for a while (lost 5th gear on a nice long trip and drove 9 hrs in 4th gear doing 55mph, not fun). But I was wondering if you could have a brand new Toyota, what color would it be and what package would you get? (looking pretty hard at the Double Cab 4x4 Sport TRD). Just not sure what color we want yet. Looking for pros/cons. Thanks guys and look forward to learning on this forum!!

Welcome to TW. Glad to have you here!
I like the new dark green, gray and the dark red colors. I have the silver now, but too many people have silver. Congrats on the new truck. Be sure to post pics of it when you get the TACO!

First off, welcome to TW. Lots of new faces.
Now to answer the question, it depends on where I lived. As I live in the Northwest where there is plenty of rain and I don't get to clean my truck as often as I like, I chose silver. Easy to maintain. Looks somewhat clean, even when dirty. Hides dust, dirt, and all but the worst mud.
If I lived in a nice sunny state, I'd probably have to pick something like red (scratch that, the cops always see you coming), or smoke gray, or black (scratch that too, I'm too lazy to keep a black truck clean). So I guess it must be gray. Ken:D

I would go with a White or Silver one even though I have a red truck lol. Oh and I really like my locker on the TRD off road just an FYI :)

haha. Indeed. However, we also have a 04' F-250 Powerstroke to haul the horses. And the Dodge is a 97'. So, she's almost antique. lol

Thanks everybody for the welcome. Everyone made very good points to consider. We will be moving to SC where its quite sunny for the most part, so black wouldn't be too bad. Although keeping it clean is always a task (and scratch free). Nobody likes the bright blue? haha. I guess its just gonna be a matter of what the dealer has to offer, but I will definitely post pics when I get it. Thanks again!!
