okay. Is there any type of grey wire mod on the new 2016 TRD tacomas? I want to be able to lock my rear locker in while in 2wd/4wd, not just 4low. Not positive if its the same setup as the prior years of TRD. Thank you for the feedback

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Bump. I am curious as well.

    Mostly stuff I built.
I have the schematics just have not had the time to play with it yet should be a fairly easy mod as there is no actuator on these just a electromagnetic coil to apply voltage to. Will probably require 2 relays to make it happen. One to interrupt/shunt the factory wiring to the locker and another to apply power to it from the new source. Not sure of the duty cycle on the coil for the locker so we may run into some issues from that.

That's where I gave up. I can't seem to locate a power supply with the correct waveform.

It has to be possible given that the 2wd OR models have an E locker. I doubt they would use two separate lockers or systems. Anyone with a 2wd figure out who theirs is wired and compare it to the 4x4?

It's a different system than the second gen. The coding inside the computer that allows it to lock is different

What about adding an ECU from a 2WD and wiring that to an off/on switch and then taking the output direct to the locker actuator? Damn CAN for making everything complicated

While we are talking about the rear locker...

What's the advantage to adding air locker to a truck with e-locker? I know it's not what you are talking about, but I've been wondering and figured you guys would know.

    Thanks for the 411!

Can turn it on in all t-case ranges. Arguably stronger than e-locker. But the e locker works well for my needs. I may add air to the front

I want to add an air locker to the front, no idea why someone would want to replace the e locker in the rear. Maybe it's a better system, but if it ain't broke don't fix it..

I've been in 1 situation so far where a front locker would have been nice.

I do my own Labor. But I'd say 2-4 hours Labor at your shop of choice to install the actual locker. And then add the air system on top of that

You won't be able to engage 4HI or 4LO, so you would have a 2 wheel drive 4 wheel drive truck
