You kinda want to hit that one going in, but then you have a lot of dust and pavement and only OK camping the first night (I could hunt for a improvement on that). Going out and we would get home way late. The drive is pretty easy, but seeing Barker Ranch was pretty cool.

Might be in. I've only been there with the family, so the Lippincott trail is about as technical as it got. We were solo all 3 times, so didn't stray too far off the main trails. It should be fun with a group.

Would you rather go when it's 110* out...at night?
IMO winter is the only time to do DV. Yes the high desert can get nipply at night, but as soon as that sun comes up, it's like the thermostat got stuck on high.

If the dates work out I'm in on this. Been wanting to to do DV for a while. I'm down for the gnarly 4x4 stuff, scenic trip, or both. Got 60 hours of vacation still available.

Thanks. That is where it looks like this is heading. But has to be early, before VolcomBanana switches schedules

I threw a Poll on this beach. Since this samiches between holidays, which holiday would you rather get close too. I could care less either way.

Also this is a thursday thru sunday, figure that is easier than friday thru monday.
