Which HID kit closely matches DRLs?

Trying to keep my low beams and fogs to match the factory DRL LEDs...I really wanted to get the XenonDepot kit with the Philips 4300k bulbs. Can anyone chime in on some recommendations? Thanks!

 

I have the Morimoto 5500K kit and it matches well. I don't have any issues with them either like some people do.

 

Thanks Invid. Yeah I read about the issues too and that is the only thing that concerns me.

 

I have the xenon depot lights that are 4300k. I did not get the phillips bulbs but I can say that they are not as white as the leds. I think you will need a 5000-5500k light to match it.

I have the opt7 in the headlights and fogs, they are pretty close.

 

I think to match perfect its 5500K - I run RSI 6000K and they are pretty close, I'm not to anal about it so it's close enough for me.

 

I myself run DDM 4500k because I want the stock look of the HID. Never did like the "HEY LOOK HERE! YEAH LOOK RIGHT HERE! I HAVE HIDs!!!!" look. Like to keep my truck looking clean. 4500k is the same color temp as say the OEM Lexus HIDs.

Also, stick to 35w. Please do not get 55w. Hate people that run 55w.

You don't want them to match and they never will.

The factory LEDs are around 5500k temp, I* have the Philips LED fogs (6000k)* that match pretty damn close but even if you match the color the fogs are so much brighter they'll still look different.

For low beams you shouldn't worry about cosmetics as much as functional contrast with the road which is better achieved with a 4300k temp kit.

 

Though 4300k produces the most lumens, most people prefer the pure white 5000-5500k light output at a small sacrifice of only 100-200 lumens.

I run Osram CBI 5500ks, but I like having the best and most people don't want to spend over $100 just on their bulbs lol

 

Yeah I hear you. I've run Osram 5500k in my Subaru and DDM kits in several cars. I only mentioned the 4300k because that was the kit he was already looking at.

Well if OP wants matching this is probably the closest setup I've ever seen.

Do you know what temp your fogs are? They look like low 5k (in the first pics)

I'm surprised the HID projector matches the LED fogs so well. Same temp sure but different housings and light sources usually throws them off.

Looks really sharp and less blue than I would've though.

 

Does the DRL have a bulb you can change out or no? If it does I would replace it with a brighter one but I don't think it does

 

No, they are much brighter when the headlights are off. They dim when the headlights are on.

When you are in DTRL mode, they are very bright. Stands out even in the sun

 

People should also note that no matter what color HID you run, its going to cause the LEDs to be washed out by the HIDs.

Example: Turn your stock halogen bulbs on and look at the color of the LEDs, they turn almost a warm white color.

 

I like them all to be the same color just for looking good.

I can't stand cars with HID headlights and yellow halogen fogs lol
