Hey all, new to the forum.

I am waiting for my 3rd taco yota to be built and delivered.

1st was a 95 4cylinder manual 4X4, 2nd thanks to the great buy back program is an 09, 4 cylinder access cab manual.

Now I am currently waiting for my 3rd taco, it will be 17, v6 4X4 manual short bed, with tow package.

I have been a fan of the tacomos for as long as I can remember, but more recently its become one of the few manual transmission out there, but even with yota, the mans are becoming harder to get, hence the need to order one.

couple of questions for those out there in the Taco World.

1-what brand of cap? (Im in Maine, so Snug fit may not be possible)
2-to under coat or treat for rust or not?

I grew up outside Syracuse NY, one of the worst locations in the US for winter salt. The common conversation we have is that no matter what you do within 10 years your vehicle will start to rust, however I would not hesitate to have it undercoated by a company that will re-apply undercoating where it wears off. :fingerscrossed:

Confirmed today that my truck was built on Monday the 3rd, and now has a status "f" for freight. Not sure how long, but guessing couple weeks.

I did ask for the bumper to not be drilled, I'm hoping for the no drill plate updated for the 3rd gen tacos.

Welcome to the family bcrobbin, I'm a firm believer in undercoating. Of course I live in Canada so not much of a choice seeing as I drive all my vehicles in the ground before I purchase a new one. In winter time, all roads are covered in salt, not much sand or grit use where I am. Before my Taco, I owned a 2005 Ford Freestar, had it oil sprayed every 2 years, got rid of it Aug 2015 with 450,000 Km's, believe that's in the ballpark of 280,000 miles, with not one spec of rust on it. Only reason I got rid of it was the "bells and whistles" started going on it and did not want to sink a bunch of coin into a Ford.
Had my '14 Taco under coated last year, will do it again in the next month or 2, then I will begin my every 2 year interval.
    Hope this helps.

Are you talking about the rubber undercoating, or oil sprayed as you mentioned. Currently I plan to use an oil based product like Fluid Film

Welcome to TW, I like your current truck though. Hope the 3rd gen is better. I would do the rubber undercoat if it was me but that's just me.

Do you mind explaining why the rubber? And thanks, I really like my current truck, but do to kids getting bigger the AC just doesn't work for us any more. I really wish I could afford to keep it and get the new one, but if I was to push that I may end up needing a good lawyer

With it being a new truck the frame would be clean and when I had this I used the can and just sprayed myself and it seemed to help and didn't cost a lot, I'm just stingy I guess

I have only gotten my vehicles oil sprayed, ive had the kind that is more sticky and doesnt drip, and the kind that drips for a couple days after it has been sprayed.
Never had the rubber spray done. Is that the kind they guarantee it for something crazy like 10 years??
I actually prefer the oil that drips a little, makes me think it gets in all the nooks and crannies everywhere. Ya its a bit messy, but imo, worth it.
Krown is a very reputable company for doing good work, popular up here.
