Nice weather today , 95 deg plus temps clear blue skies and strong Santa Ana winds . winds are constant 10-15mph with 45-55mph and occasional gusts to over 65mph plus

We're also under a Red Flag / fire weather warning until Saturday

I remember going by that area for a CA4WDC Panamint Valley days outing in November 1995 & 97 . and running the Surprise Canyon trail which was going up 9 active waterfalls . That trail was hard and you got really wet while running winch lines

Up at the top was the old mining town of Panamint city and we would explore the old silver mines or hike up to Telescope peak

 

that's really cool!

 

Chris , you would have really liked this trail in Death Valley especially crawling up the canyon in the dark with it raining and traversing the 9 waterfalls

Less than a week in the woods and impossible to keep up with you all when I finally get a chance to get internet. Which is mobile hotspot on my phone linked to the laptop. If Jax goes under so does 1/3 of the Electronic Medical Records of the #1 hospital in the US until we flip them to Az. Trip could be cut short this year oh well, hasn't been too bad so far. Hope everyone in the path is safe and got out. If not that you're hunkered down safe and sound...

Tim I really like how everyone came together in Townville, community really stepped it up. And parents and everyone else, well done in a horrible situation.

Damn now you tell me. 40th class reunion is this weekend I could have asked you for a pit pass and stopped by to see you. Best of luck to you. Couldn't go back this weekend anyhow it is my time to be in the woods with the dog in the Superior National Forest on the Canadian Border\Wilderness Area. Same reason the class of 76 has their reunion this weekend and the Glen is racing. Leaves and color. For me it is also ruff grouse and the dog of course.
