I didn't read too much into it, I was just stating my opinion like everyone else here, like you I`d like to know what truly happened as well.

That looks like a Mini Lite By Rockwood (a Forest River product). I would think that trailer pushed the taco sideways when he tried to stop too fast. He might not have engaged the trailer brakes or could not apply the trailer brakes. He may not have had enough tongue weight on that 4000 pound load.

They may have been true at one time. I have been driving big truck for the last 24 years, and now the big trucks are driving like some of the idiot 4 wheelers.

I can`t argue that point, I have witnessed it, majority of the time it`s the ones hauling those big containers coming out of Jacksonville FL.

As much as it pains me to agree with this...I've commuted daily on a major interstate for nearly 22 years. There really are a lot of irresponsible truck drivers out there. I've noticed a measurable change over the years. My grandfather drove a truck for almost 30 years. He said he always drove his rig with the "lowest common denominator" in mind. In other words....drive like everyone around is stupid and you'll keep yourself out of trouble. Deadlines, quotas, $ per mile and complacency are a bad mixture in a big rig.

Thank you to you hard working drivers who operate with a safety 1st attitude. I know the 4 wheelers don't make it easy sometimes.

Pretty sure that trailer is required by the DOT to have trailer brakes. Atleast here in NY it would be. My guess is there was no sway control for the trailer. Conditions seem a little wet and the driver was probably towing faster then he should. That's not that big of a trailer but depending on the loaded weight could be up there. The Tacoma isn't really designed for towing. Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable towing a lot of weight with one. Atleast not on a long trip with a lot of hills or mountains. Anyways I'm sure the guy was going a bit to fast and the trailer started to sway and jackknife and he lost control
