Looks like it may be going through an eyewall replacement. Core winds may drop but it spreads out the wind path. It took a jog Eastward which may help south Florida. Now back on NW track. Waiting for 8pm update

I live on one of the barrier islands. Lots of hard headed people trying to wait it out, getting loaded, playing around. Not evacuating. Storm surge is going to be rough on this area.

My house happens to be quarter mile from the cemetery and is one of the higher points on the island. They like to bury the dead places that won't get flooded for a reason.

Bridges close when the winds get to 40 mph and then there is no leaving. The water and electricity are being cut off soon and will not be turned back on until all is good. Hospital evacuated last night.

I am now 500 miles away and thought I was feeling less anxious, but I am seeing friends on Facebook posting videos and pictures. Just makes me nervous about what could happen.

Looks like a new eye formed. 130 mph but bigger wind footprint. Bad for storm surge. Impact point and times unchanged

One positive note for my evacuating to the Mississippi Gulf coast is that through the 9th there's an event called Cruisin the Coast that is a huge custom car event. Going tomorrow to check out the old rides.

The closer this gets, the more worried I'm getting

My brother is part of the crew at the SC Aquarium in Charleston that has to ride out the hurricane in the aquarium building

Really hope this thing turns and goes away
