I can assure you they are the real deal. Spoke with Dustin many times. I believe they are just having difficulty keeping up with the orders. Everyone wants the FX Pro. I was interested in a set myself before my wife decided she wanted to build a new home, so they got put on the back burner. Dustin stayed true to his word, held me a set once they arrived (took about a month or so to get), but I unfortunately told him to let my set go to another eager customer.

I'll definitely be reaching out to FN Wheels when I have the extra change.

The rims come from China on a slow boat. It takes months to get a shipment in. I work for fed ex and pick up at a medical supply company . They are always waiting on shipment to come in and as soon as they get it all the back log orders go out. Sometime you keep up sometimes you get behind. Also when you have the product allocated or held for customers before you know it the entire shipment is sold out again.

I had the same trouble getting in contact last week. I tried emailing/calling FNW/Dustin for a few days last week before i heard back. Once i spoke with him his customer service and clear explanation of his process for shipping was fantastic. My new wheels should be shipping to me very soon now(Tomorrow if all goes well)! I found my tires in stock today and will have them installed as soon as i can arrange with my work schedule. I can only recommend that you be patient. So far Dustin's customer service has been great though we have only spoken once so far.

Hmmm... I think I'm gonna have to order a set of these for my TRD Pro when it comes in. It's being built today, so hey... maybe I'll have it in a couple weeks.

Anybody put bronze FX Pros on a white Tacoma yet? I'd love to see pics of that. I'm thinking a TRD Pro in white, with bronze FX Pros and 275/70/17 KO2s would be the shit.

I called 2 months ago to arrange a set. I got a call back on the status the next day and was told they would be in that same week and he would call for my payment. Then never heard anything. I left a couple messages even, so I just gave up.

Mine shipped today! It took a little persistence to get in touch and place the order. Dustin seems to be a very busy guy and missed his goal of having them shipped yesterday but i called today to ask if he was able to ship them, had to leave a message and he processed the shipment immediately. The invoice and tracking came through within 30 minutes of my message as I only requested he call or email me with info on the order. FedEx has them now and they should arrive Tuesday! Total time from first attempt to contact to what should be delivery is looking to be about 2 1/2 weeks. If you want these wheels just be a little patient and persistent and i'm sure he will come through for anyone who wants a set. Best of luck to everyone who's trying to get a set.

When i spoke with Dustin he did say he has a lot of very large orders for Toyota dealers. Maybe check local dealers? If not keep calling. I tried contacting them 3 times 2 days apart each time. On the last day i called twice, 3 ours apart and he called me back pretty quickly after that. Placed my order when he called and he said he was pulling them from a dealer order.

For those who can't reach him I know for a fact he works very hard at fulfilling orders. His customer service when I bought my wheels was excellent. I suggest trying to call him instead of email/PMs.

Please tell me everyone that keeps asking how/why....

1.) Aren't these wheels listed on his website
2.) Do you get these wheels
3.) Do you get a hold of Dustin

    .......are joking?

My matte bronze PRO wheels arrived yesterday and I was able to get them installed today with 265/70r17 KO2's. The packaging was top notch, double boxed, thin foam sheet under fabric covers and a rubber ring around the edge of the wheel. I was to busy to grab pics due to other errands but I should have some time this weekend to get some pics.

    Hello TacomaWorld!

I am very sorry that I've been hard to reach for the last 2-3 months+. I was alerted to this thread, and I've kept my eye on it and felt the need to post for a while, but I definitely feel the need to post now more than ever.

First of all, thank you all very, very much for your orders and for your support of me (Dustin) and my company (FN Wheels). Nothing makes me happier than to see how happy all of your are with our wheels, as I know how hard we work to source from the very best factories, enact a strict standard, and make sure that the wheels meet those standards.

Now to give a little background on the FX Pro wheel. When we started developing the FX Pro about 2 years ago, we did so at the request of 4Runner owners and members of T4R. org forum. At that time photos of the "SEMA FJ Wheel" as it was being called at that time were circulating as the wheel for the new 4Runner Pro model. A few savvy Toyota dealership parts guys got a hold of the part number, and ordered the factory wheels. At this point we all discovered that the 4Runner Pro wheel was only 7" wide (too narrow for most Toyota owners' tastes, and too narrow to be approved for use with the very popular 285/70R17 tires, let alone factory Tacoma tires in 265/65R17, both of which require a MINIMUM 7.5" rim width).

I (Dustin) have a reputation dating back 15+ years for working to bring out really good quality wheels that are specific to certain vehicles, and for the last 6+ years FN Wheels (my company) has a reputation specifically for Toyota applications. Our wheels have been popular for a while now, and I like to think (based on my customer feedback) that we have the best Toyota truck specific niche wheels out there, particularly at this price point. So around this time two years ago were approached by members of the 4Runner forum and a few of my Toyota dealership customers to make a wheel that was similar to the 4Runner Pro (aka FJ SEMA Wheel), but in a better width: 8". Everyone already liked our wheels and our reputation, and so it seemed like a natural fit.

To be perfectly honest, I did not think this wheel would sell extremely well, but there seemed to be enough demand at the time to justify our costs to design, engineer, manufacture a mold, have the wheels third party tested and certified, and then make a production run. I figured I'd probably break even at best, but I too am an enthusiast and particularly a Toyota enthusiast, so I thought why not. It'll be cool to give my customers what they want.

When word got out, and when I released a few photos of the prototypes to one of the early customers who had requested the design from the get go, there was a real strong "buzz" about the wheel. By the time the first production arrived we had already taken an interest list long enough to sell out (I never accept payment for any wheels prior to actually having the wheels in stock, except in rare instances where the customer absolutely insists on pre-paying). The first production run sold out within days (this was approximately a year and half ago, the late-spring / early summer of 2015).

At that point we had only sold the wheels via word of mouth to 4Runner owners and a few Toyota dealerships that do "showroom" or aftermarket builds (because the dealerships realized the liability at hand when installing 285/70R17 or 265/65R17 tires on wheels that are only 7" wide). I had actually proposed the wheel to a few of the members here on TacomaWorld who were looking for something different, but the feedback at the time was that it was more of a "4Runner wheel," and they wanted to wait until someone else posted photos on a Tacoma.

Still feeling that this wheel was more of a small niche wheel I ordered another small production run from my factory, and by the time it arrived it was sold out again, but we were able to meet the demand from 4Runner customers in a reasonable time frame, while still selling all of our other current FN Wheels models.

Sometime late last year the first Tacoma owners started ordering the wheels and posting photos online. From that point on the popularity exploded. Our volume of sales has been extremely busy ever since, and as a result the strains on our time have grown. The wheels are not listed on our website because I cannot keep up with the demand from word-of-mouth sales alone, so there is no need for me to add this wheel to our site only to have it marked "out of stock." We are ordering the wheels consistently and in good quantity from our factory. I have not increased the price from the "introductory" price either and as many of the customers on here and on the other Toyota forums can attest I often throw in some extras (if available / if I can) with every order. I am sure we could increase the price and cutback on the extras and then curb the demand so that we are able to keep the wheels in stock (and that is probably good business sense), but as a fellow enthusiast that's not what I want to do.

We still ONLY take payment for orders that we can fulfill. We do take a backorder/interest list, and I do make every effort to call every customer from that list. If you put your name on my list and feel that you didn't receive a call from me I deeply apologize. I can tell you that I often call customers from the interest list and receive messages that voicemails aren't setup, are full, or am told that I have the wrong number. I also leave messages and do not hear back customers. I am sure that I have probably somewhere along the way missed a few customers, accidentally deleted a number from their phone number in my waiting list, etc. We keep the "waiting list" computer on a separate system from the computer that stores the orders (for security). Sometimes the "waiting list" computer is in use, so we log down interest list customers by hand on paper and have the data entered later. It's possible that we might have made a mistake this way as well. If you were waiting and didn't hear from me, please call us again at : 855-WHEEL-00 (855-943-3500) or call/text my cell: (714)390-9387.

In the last couple of weeks in particular our volume of sales has tripled over this time last year, and many days our voicemail box is full, and our e-mails are overloaded. I am working on training new staff to help with this, but like anything, we cannot turn someone loose until they know our procedures inside and out. I would rather miss out on a sale than have a mistake made with a customer's order. I am currently about 10 days out on some voicemails, but I have been trying to take new calls as soon as they come in. First and foremost, if we take your order, we will inspect and ship your wheels in a timely fashion. If we get to where we have taken the maximum number of orders that we can ship in a reasonable time frame (usually we try to ship the same day or within 24 hours), we will simply stop taking any new orders to concentrate on customers who've already paid. I know other companies will take orders and then take weeks to ship. That is not the way I want to treat my paying customers.

Furthermore, anyone who has spoken with me (Dustin) or FN Wheels (my company) knows that I will take sometimes 20, 30 or even 60 minutes on the phone to go over your requests, send images, discuss tire fitment, TPMS sensors, suspension setups, etc. All of this takes time, and I won't cut a customer short, but at the same time it does create a backlog of calls or make us "hard to reach" if multiple customers are calling at the same time. Again, I know from experience with other industries where I am the consumer that is very nice to have someone that can answer your questions in a knowledgeable and friendly manner, and I also know that this type of service is becoming harder to find. If you get me on the phone you have my complete attention, and I will take my time with you and your order.

Lastly, every single wheel (regardless of the model), is unpacked, inspected, and repacked before it ships the customer. I am very pleased to see that customers on this and other forums have commented on our packing. We take a lot of time, effort, and money to ensure that the wheels are properly inspected and packed before shipping to the customer. If we notice imperfections that don't meet our standards, we don't ship the wheels. As a result, this takes more time, and it requires a trained eye and other tools, and this leads to delays in reaching us. Again, I won't change our standards to ship more wheels / ship more quickly. This is a standard that I know for certain, based on my 15+ years in the industry, that other wheel brands simply do not do. While I use excellent factories to produce our wheels that I trust and have been using for many years, I still feel it is our duty to do the final inspection before the wheels leave our warehouse, and also to add extra packaging / protection to every wheel.

To summarize: Thank you all for your interest our wheels, and thank you very much to everyone who has ordered our wheels. I'd especially like to deeply thank all of those who've taken the time to post photos of their truck and express their satisfaction with FN Wheels. I also want to let anyone who is reading this know that we might be a little hard to get a hold of right now, and I do apologize for that, but the sheer popularity and volume of sales from the FX Pro wheel has increased our workload tremendously, and we're working on getting a handle on that without compromising standards or quality. It takes time to train new people to do things right to meet the demand for this wheel and other new wheels which we'll be releasing in the near future. I work and am available virtually 24/7, so please do not hesitate to call / text for the fastest response. Locals can also call me and stop by if they want to see the wheels in person. For those who would like to see the wheels on our website - we will add them soon, once we can get enough inventory to keep on hand for more than a week at a time.

Thank you all again very much!

I'm very sorry that we've not called you back sooner, and I am sorry you feel that way. Please give me a call tonight/tomorrow at the office: (951)735-1100 or call/text my cell: (714)390-9387 anytime. I am in the process of returning all voicemails, but we've been receiving hundreds of calls per day and we are still about 40+ voicemails behind.

The wheels aren't listed on our website simply because we do not have them in stock, and we can't keep them in stock. I don't own a van by the way. :) Closest thing I own is an FJ Cruiser, and to tell the truth I have met some out of town / after hours customers with the wheels in boxes in the bed of my truck to save them a trip to my warehouse.

Thanks for the post. This has absolutely nothing to do with where or how the lug nuts or wheels are made (virtually all Toyota wheels are made in China, some in Mexico, some in Thailand, and some in Taiwan). I have sold $1,000+/pc wheels from Germany, Japan, UK, etc. with $5/pc lug nuts and this still happens. Also, for what it's worth, we began manufacturing this wheel in China because the Chinese factory (which is owned by the same group of factories that I've been using for 12 years and adheres to the same standards, uses the same grade of virgin alloy, and is overseen by Japanese inspectors) has the best capability to produce these wheels quickly and efficiently due to a state of the art robotic manufacturer facility and paint line. I avoided using any Chinese manufacturers for many years, but this is not a Chinese owned company, not a new company, and this factory manufactures for some other BIG name brands with high standards like mine and who charge twice as much as what we sell our wheels for.

To explain what you're seeing - when you have a brand new conical seat, anodized or chrome plated lug nut and a brand new painted/powder coated wheel the lug nut "bites" into the wheel the first time. After driving there is also some settling and expansion / contraction over the first few miles (some manufacturers say 50 miles, some 100 miles, and others say up to 1,000 miles, but we say the first 100 miles). What your seeing in that photo is a break or bite into the seat of the chrome on the lug nut. This is extremely normal and common with all wheels, regardless of price, country of origin, etc.

There is in fact a way to avoid this. We include high quality Gorilla or equivalent conical seat lug nuts with our wheels at no charge for our customers (not officially included or even factored into our cost, but I do it for my customers). There are lug nuts from McGard, which I also sell, that use a patented free-floating torque retention design. A few other manufacturers also make this type of lug nut, but not exactly the same since McGard holds the original patent. Basically these have a shaft that spins independently from the conical lug seat (think of the conical lug seat being similar to washer). The lug seat stays put on the wheel, and the shaft of the lug nut tightens down onto the lug seat, rather than the lug seat tightening into the wheel with a traditional one-piece or (two-piece welded) lug nut. Because the seat of the lug nut is not tightening into the wheel you will not see any plating from the lug nut or finish of the wheel wearing off. These types of lug nuts are individually CNC machined and the assembly process is very time consuming. As a result these lug nuts are very expensive (comparatively) to the "complimentary" lug nuts that I include. I do sell them, but since I don't like to "upsell" customers I rarely mention them. I don't want the customer to feel like I'm trying to sell them a $100 set of lugs to "make more money off them." These lugs are nice, but they are really quite overkill and unnecessary.

The reason that you don't normally see the lug nut / lug seat wearing like that on most factory Toyota wheels is because Toyota uses a flat seat on most of their wheels and an ET washer (aka mag shank) style lug nut. If you have ever owned some of the TRD optional wheels (not the 4Runner PRO TRD wheels) such as the 2015 Tacoma Pro wheels, and you tighten down conical seat lug nuts, you'd find exactly the same thing happening. It's completely normal, poses zero risk, and is nothing to worry about.
