Exactly. As long as you know that who cares what you spend your money on. Finally a common sense approach, Im not knocking the pro, just trying to help those be more realistic about its "rarity" and assumed higher resale value down the road. Still cool trucks and if I had the money I'd consider one after 2 lifted Tacoma's I'm all about stock now.

I've been in the car business for 15 years and my focus is resale value because I primarily write leases. So this conversation is right in my wheelhouse.

The limited quantity will increase resale value...whether a website tells us that or not. To what extent? I don't know. Desirability? The Pro will be very desirable. Something desirable equates to higher value, obviously. I paid 42.2 for my Pro. How much is that over a limited or TRD off road?

Fair but it seems you're new to Tacoma scene, look at the above poster, pros and bajas fetch very little more than a regular TRD come resale/trade, limited or not. Again its a Tacoma not a ZO6 corvette, collector car, etc. I implore you to do some research cars.com, etc. you'll see Pros don't fetch much more than a regular TRD used. You got a great price for a pro as they are commanding MSRP currently. Devils advocate would say however on the other hand most guys are negotiating TRD OR's for invoice or just over so $36-38k for a loaded OR (everything you have minus the leather, suspension, grille, hood scoop, badging and wheels). Time will tell but do you think your Pro will fetch the $3-6k more resale/trade in over a loaded TRD OR with similar mileage/condition, 2nd gen market proves otherwise.

    Plus exhaust, crawl control?

I've had several personal tacomas, bought and sold even more for business...

Tacomas and Jeep Wranglers are about the best vehicle you can buy financially speaking. In fact, you can make a case for only buying them new. I know I wouldn't buy a used one since buying new vs used is such a small gap. Maybe I'm speaking from the experience of being able to retail them vs trading them in. Therefore, maybe your line of thinking is correct if we are speaking in wholesale/trade-in terms. I know I will be able to sell mine and retain any extra money I spent on the Pro vs an OR or Limited.

The gentleman with the Baja has an access cab, which is a hard sell these days...

OR has crawl control, exhaust can be added as accessory item.

This I know, I've owned 5 of them. Not new to this. You're still missing the point. Just go to cars.com, find used Pros/bajas or as the Baja owner above you mentioned, they are not commanding any more demand or huge increase in price over a TRD similar in condition/mileage. You paid MSRP for a Pro, about $3-6k more than guys buying ORs at (see what did you pay thread) as many can negotiate invoice instead of MSRP. So your trying to tell me that you think your PRO will be work $3-6k more than the same year/similarly equipped OR years from now. Clearly the used market shows a different story. Why would that change now. Come on dude.

I paid invoice and yes I do think I will retain the difference. Being that you have never bought or traded/sold one(pro or Baja)I guess you are simply guessing....KBB is a joke, always has been. Agree to disagree I guess....

Go on cars.com, Pros are not fetching $3-6k more than a similar TRD. Invoice on a pro is $42k? That's still $6k more than what guys are getting loaded ORs for. So you're still trying to argue that years from now the $6k difference you paid over an OR you will get because its a PRO, I highly doubt that, KBB, the current used market agrees. Maybe your collector Tacoma will be so rare your right. I doubt it. There will be a 2018, 2019, 2020 Pro that will be even more desirable. Not new to Tacomas, buying them, selling them, trading them, etc. but what do I know, kbb, used market, etc. Agree to disagree.

    TRD off road 30k....5-6 difference.

See, now I have evidence and you have evidence. Why don't we just agree to disagree...

Mileage? Zip code. Can't compare otherwise. Willing to bet a similar mileage/OR TRD certified is $32-33k. Numbers still don't add up bud.

Come on man....13k vs 14k miles...

Who cares I'm done with this. Just simply stating that a TRD pro is worth the same as a TRD off road is a silly argument. Side by side the Pro is limited edition(vs other Tacomas) with more equipment and more trail capable. Why on earth would they be worth the same.

I NEVER said they would be worth the same, just not as much as your alluding too, or as much as to make up the purchase price difference between the two.

I'm waiting. I'm waiting to be able to hop in my Pro tomorrow morning and be able to drive it to work. Then waiting to make the long drive on Sat to the tint shop. Then waiting to get some sexy pics. Finally, waiting for this thread to get unhijacked.

BOT. I'd say they should be nearly done allocating the 833 cements, guessing we'll be seeing more SWhites and Barcas around the new year.

Why is it the 2 bottom trucks are called trd pros when they are not and the truck that is a trd pro on the top doesn't have it in the name?

I'm not the one who came into the Pro thread telling us we are better off upgrading a more base truck and that the Pros are not as rare as we think they are and that Toyota is making higher margins off the Pro vs other Tacomas....I'm assuming you were not thinking you would come in and make all those comments and not be challenged on those comments? You believe what you want and I will do the same. All I'm saying is you weren't exactly preaching to the choir on this one. Have a good evening.
