Hurricane Matthew

Do any of you know the story about the Navy seal who went swimming into a hurricane, and was forced to return/rescued and then arrested. He had to go in front of his CO to explain himself and he said "Sir My only question is why they weren't more Navy SEALs training"

Soo... unless you are training for seal shool = natural selection
Don't mess around with hurricanes

Although, this storm has had some great changes that have really limited its damage thus far
Storm wall and Nicole's wind have changed the directions for the better

Been watching feeds for a few hours and they are still on high alert, but this is a much better outcome than what I had expected

Slept through it but we just got the bands, how are the east coast peeps?

 

I talked to my cousin in Cape Canaveral @ around 3:30 this morning and he said that it was not really anything more than wind at the moment and no damage other than awnings/screen rooms and some blowing debris that he could see..

I'm waiting on a report form my Dad in Rockledge....

We have high winds, and the rain is picking up. ..

 

Good news, all is well here in Melbourne FL! Just down tree limbs but nothing major at the house. We definitely got lucky with it just passing offshore rather than getting a direct hit. And most importantly, the Tacoma is fine other than needing a bath!

True. The only areas that got hit by the top right quadrant of the storm were Hati and the Bahamas. If the storm buries itself into the US, that would expose the coast to the worst winds. We will know more when it runs out of FL coastline.

 

I hope you have a way to make that without power. Just in case.
