front end shimmy

just had new wheels installed and balanced and there is still a shimmy at high speeds....
is this shimmy from the lift ...5100's @ 2.5 & 2" aal
i can feel it in the wheel and gas pedal...not in the seat or cab....
any help would be great

 

Did ya get an alignment too?

 

did you get new UCAs. i have a similar shimmy in the steering wheel over 65mph. i think it has something to do with the caster and/or toe noth being perfect

 

what size tires? aftermarket uca's?

 

i'm still on stock ucas...deffinately the cause for in spec, but not great alignment numbers. 265/70/17 tires, so bigger, but not big. don't knwo abotu the op

 

i have stock uca and had an alingment done " not great but close " and stock 265/75/16

 

Worn tie rod ends maybe? If you jack the front end up and wiggle the tires right to left, and have excessive "play" that's probably what it is.

 

cool i will have to check that out i did bounce off a curb a while back.... but had an alingment after

 

might have to do a front diff drop or carrier bearing drop...they sell kits for this to help...also shims under the leaf springs can help...i've heard of others having this problem but it can be fixed most of the time

Yeah try the carrier bearing drop and axle shims that go under the rear leaf springs to help correct pinion angle.
