I will be purchasing the fx5 soon and will have to let you know. Seems to be better than the bakflip from what I've found. Supposedly attaches to the existing rail system so you don't have to remove anything to install it. The only thing I'm hesitant on is running the drain tubes. Is it really worth drilling holes into the bed of the truck??

You just have to enlarge the drain holes that are in the front of the bed.

Oh ok, so the holes already exist then? That makes it less concerning for me. Thank you!

I got the Backflip MX3 on my 2016 Access cab. Overall I love it. Fits very well. I do have dripping into the bed with heavy rains but it's not bad.

One of the things I really like about the VP is that it doesn't mount to the rails and leaves them fully open to be used for adjustable tiedowns.

I paid 720 for my gator fx5 through gator covers.com which included tax and shipping. Still waiting for it to come in though....

Use the backflip on all of our trucks (currently have had over 30 of them installed on 30 different trucks). No complaints here.

Either my cover arrived today or my Han Solo encased in carbonite did. Either way I'm pretty stoked.

Gator fx5 install complete. It's dark out so I'll post pics later. It involved taking off the bed header by the back window to install some foam pieces at the ends, removing the deck rail system to install the cover rails, re installing the deck rails a little bit Lower with the provided brackets, drilling a 7/8" hole through my bed mat and bed for the drain tubes, and the rest was cake. It looks great and seems to be a quality product. The fitting of the actual cover was really easy.
