I'm changing the oil and filter on my 2017 today and the only left to do is install the oil drain plug, but I found that the factory drain plug washer is aluminum with a bonded blue fiber on each side.

Will a new 12mm standard aluminum crush work ok, or is there some reason that for the bonded fiber on the stock drain plug washer.

To late as I already installed a regular aluminum crush washer, and I started the truck up and let it get up to temp and it's not leaking, which I really didn't think it would.

Aluminum crush washers work great. You'll be fine.

Ummm... If the only thing left to do is install the drain plug, I'd strongly urge you to revisit the proper order of the steps involved in an oil change...

You don't want to keep using the same washer over and over. Soon you won't be able to get them off

Thanks, and I was pretty sure that they would to, and I always keep a good supply of both 12mm and 14mmm aluminum crush washers on hand.

Hmmm ... new truck with substitute washer that might leak ... voiding warranty. Why take that chance, when an OEM washer is less than $1?
