Someone here on Fort Carson told me that if i convert to 8 lug then i can buy a pallet of hummvee wheels for a few hundred. When driving a humvee I've popped a tire, broke an axle, and almost ran over a few dogs in the middle east. The wheels never got damaged though!

 

Some how I knew when question to 8 lugs was going to be related to HMMWV wheels haha. They're 35s on a 15.5" wheel so hopefully they fit

 

New tars are in. Test fitting in an hour. Definitely not much narrower, a touch taller though.
Still considering 17's, In a plain steel wheel. There isn't shit to choose from in a 16.

Nope, 295 75 16 Terra grappler. 255 would be smaller than what I have now

But, may change to the 285/75r17. And new wheels. Just want to test fit the 295 first

By the numbers, yes. By manufacturer, not so much.

 

OOOooo ive been looking at 295 ko2's for my next tire but i have see and heard of easy punctures etc. kind of sketch but i wanna see those 295's on yours as i want somehting a little taller.

 

My 295s made your 285s look small.

255/85s will generally be taller than a 285/75/16.

Coopers all run small, not sure on Nittos.

But between all of these tires sizes we're talking about, there's no more than an inch difference. And the size probably makes less difference than the manufacturer.


Just get 35s and be done with it.

I love my 255/75/17s. Just wish I could get the same aspect ratio in a 35...
