Right, the point though is that on the 2017 models the TRD trims get the power window included as part of the trim. So the exact same TRD build will still have that difference between 2016 and 2017.

I double checked with the dealer I'm working with regarding the difference between the '16 and '17 Tacomas I have looked at. The figures he sent me he now says are wrong. The true difference between the invoice price for the two models is actually $899. The '16 had an option he did not include in his original figures. When that option was removed the difference between the two became $899 rather than the $460 he originally told me. I still think that makes the '17 a better buy unless the '16 is discounted.

Call up your insurance company and have them give you the payout amounts if each were totaled in two months. That should be the minimum discount on the 2016 IMHO.

If it's a trd model, it now has the power rear slider, regardless of what you got in writing.... Meaning it's not exactly the same truck/features/options.

Would have been a 16 then. It's standard on all 17 trd models.

Dealers know prices. I don't buy that. Go to another Dealer.

Technically if you total your vehicle that soon, they pay you out exactly what you paid for it.
So the only difference would be the difference in base price ing between the 16 & 17

Then expand out the time frame to whatever point allows you to understand the point I was making instead of being distracted by minutiae.

Gap is the difference between what you owe and what it's worth. If you had negative equity.

The only minutiae I was distracted by was the completely illogical point you were trying to make is
    How can you quantify depreciation?
The only difference would the difference between MSRP
They aren't going to discount 2016s just like they aren't discounting 2017s because they sought after.

That feeling when you did your homework, walk into the dealership with your scratchpad and educate the dealer about the difference between premium tech package on the manual and premium tech package with the automatic...

The manual doesn't have a tech package option....uhmmm yes it does..
