You mean they should have waited more than 11 years?

Well no, it took them technically 11 years to design it.

This new generation, like any other new model vehicle, is going through a shake down, working out the bugs. The issues will be resolved, as painful as they are currently for owners impacted by them.

Yeah you may have worded that wrong. They certainly weren't rushing.

Seems like lots of shit quality control oversight like they're scrimping on production costs more than design.

Nope. I have no issues with my TRD OR. I was actually looking at a second gen before I got my 3rd gen in Jan.

What was your last vehicle that you're comparing the 3rd gen to?

It's funny everyone is complaint about problems but Toyota isn't twisting people's arms to buy them. I don't understand why people buy them when they don't like them. Now we just get to hear them bitch and complain.

Sure a few people have legitament concerns but most of it is just bickering

They absolutely did. Quality control has slipped as well. Toyota has some clean up to do.

Likely true. I think they are using more Chinese CMs (contract manufactures) as well. Add in a tight schedule, and you have a quality nightmare.

For sure. They are repeating a lot of foolish mistakes of the past though.

I think we all do, but this is a cycle that happens with every new model year I've owned...and so far, all the issues I'm reading about are the least concerning. Vehicles blowing their transmissions out catastrophically with warranty denials claiming abuse, high pressure fuel pumps causing pistons to melt, ringlands blowing out, oil control ring coatings failing, cracked cylinder heads, body panels cut/fitted wrong, timing chain tensioners failing causing stretch and bent valves...

You're comparing to a 2012. That's a vehicle that was in production and had 7 years to work out the kinks before you had your chance on it. Given 6 more years with the same design, how do you think the quality of that vehicle would compare to ours?
