What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Two things horrible neighbor and why do people plant shit on the fence line. I have trees on every fence line. Drives me nuts.

 

Hit the dirt today. No new neighborhood building site is immune!

 

I replaced the stock BF Goodrich Rugged Trails today. I decided to go with a set of Goodyear All-Terrain Adventure in P265/75r16. I got them mounted up on a set of silver Trail Team wheels I snagged when the Duke of Deals still had his connection. Pretty satisfied with this duo.

Refinanced it. 2.09%

Began as a lease and decided to keep it long term. I've tended to flip cars too often in the past, but this is my first truck and I love it, and I'm not all interested in the 3rd gen or competing brands. Very tempted to upsize to Tundra, but decided parking in the garage every night outweighs the occasional legroom complaint from the teenage boy in the back seat.

 

Tacomas really hold their value, another plus.

 

Popped my dash apart to paint the gauge cluster rings as part of my interior black out.

Followed the instructions from @nazlax10 so it was nice and easy.

Broke a tab on the main gauge cluster, but don't think it'll be an issue. Those things are "sensitive" so guess I wasn't careful enough.



The gauge clusters are in there, you just can't see them too well because of the black paint and over spray. Hoping they come out OK once dry.



Next up will be removing and replacing the ac vent panel around the radio, and doing the prep work for the lighted Hilux 4x4 switch while at it.

Anyone know a possible cause of my brakes squeaking? they sound like a bus braking sort of.

 

Do you live near the coast in Cali? Ocean salt can do that if it sits for a few days

 

It only makes that noise after a couple miles of driving

 

Could simply need new pads, too

 

Yeah I figured, any brake pad recommendations? I heard ebc green stuff is pretty good, just wanna pick up a good quality brake pad at my local o'reilly or autozone.

I had originally placed aluminum square tube underneath my rhino track on my cap.... So I decided to do something with them....
I sold my old work van and kept the roof rack bars. I'll eventually flip them arch up and attach the freshly ordered quick fists so I can hold my Thule bars, levels and extension cords out of the way.

 

I was gunna say you might as well pull the switch while your at it

 

Man I wouldn't mind taking that for a test drive... Truck is pretty cool too

Even though it's past midnight out here on the east coast, couldn't sleep and was bored, so... Did some more stuff.

And put it back on the truck:


In the AM going to check out how the gauge cluster black spray came out, and hopefully put it back on to get the black out going even more.

 

Why not paint it black?
