Oh no doubt there, just not a fan of no power. Where we are looking for property they seem to lose power enough for me to not like it.

I mean my Pellet pooper is electric powered so how am I supposed to smoke on it with no power :)

When you don't have power you usually have time to tend the fire but I like your reasoning. :D

sorry to disappoint, but I just got an email that we were deactivated as the path doesnt appear that it will impact region 3 at this time. I'm still on call should that change. If I get any useful information, I'll surely pass it along.

lol No I have not tried to smoke oranges and lemons. I have used them in cooking quite a lot though.

I'm smoking up some pork loin tomorrow. Was planning on a butt, but I don't have the time as we have some plans.

I'm planning on a homemade rub with SPOG, a little brown sugar, a little Turb. sugar, paprika, chili powder. Any tips, suggestions for loin?

I prefer mine grilled. They are so lean that cooking slow really makes no difference.

That recipe is for tenderloin, I'm doing regular loin. I did tenderloins a few weeks back on the smoker and they were very good, not dried out. Neighbor gobbled his up and asked for more. The smoke added a good amount of flavor to them, in my opinion.

Went with SPOG and a light commercial rub on my 3lb pork loin. It's on right now. I'll post a finished pic later.

Took the stinky ribs back to Costco a week after I cooked them (froze in meantime), no questions asked refund. Woot.

@scottalot , glad you made it through the shit safe.

Yeah, check out the hurricane Matthew thread. Between Scott's updates and @DrFunker 's weather reporting, makes for a very interesting read, better than any lame ass CNN crap.
