That's the difference in their ratings. Factory tow package get the higher rating

Ok cool. Not that I tow often at all but just wanted to know. 3500 just seemed low.

The four banger is the 3500 I believe

The tow package includes more than just a tow hitch. The 4 cylinder is limited to 3500 due to engine size.

But if the truck came with the hitch and wiring, one can assume it has everything else necessary right? I didn't think of asking the dealer because I rarely tow anything.

Do you have the window sticker that came on the truck? That will tell you.

I do but it only had it listed as an option. I just called the dealer and they said if it came with the hitch then its the factory tow package (heavy duty battery, bigger alternator, etc.). Glad to finally know for sure! Not sure why it was bugging me so much. Thanks all.

If it's on your sticker you have it. Lots of tow capacity. Tow safe and have fun.

I definitely misunderstood the text. Thought it was listing it as an option, not that it actually had it. But yes it's pretty cool how much it can tow.

I know SET started adding the "tow package" as standard with the 2017 V6 trucks.

Guess it helps resale in the long run.
