Yeah, I was following the DSM/Bamf GB, but I'd prefer to avoid having to do a shock relocate for my purposes. I'm not bound for the Rubi. But this is pissing me off.

I'm about to just do the King Ext Travel in front with the new JBAs, and the Dakar setup I mentioned above with those Bilsteins for now. I've been discussing the rear OEM Kings with DSM, and even their OEM Performance ET "Dakar version" rear setup still leaves 2 inches on the table. Which, frankly, I find sad and pathetic. I would definitely get me through for the next couple years at least, and we're really only talking a bit of ride quality in the rear. Without a locker, I want and need all the droop I can get without breaking out a welder. I have so little time to work on the truck these days, I just need a solid R&R swapout option for now. And an exhaust crossover reroute. The rest is details. Once the weight starts adding up and I have more free time, I'd revisit the King setup again.

I can see how the stem mounts and bushings woudl really start taking a beating and stress under longer articulation, so that may be a factor.

I also know there are stem conversion adapters to overcome this issues, but they take up a little space and I'm dubious of them in general. Seems like a band ais.

I think it comes down the the OEM shock mount bucket and how the OEM Performance replacements with resis need to have that hose port down so low on the top of the shock to be able to exit the bucket area. It must limit the overall internal piston/valve structure from getting full tube travel like the King Performance models that have the resi hose fitted to the tube's top cap.

Well, I know eventually I will do a relocation.

I suppose I can just put the Dakars on and leave it with that for a bit. Won't do the flip kit for a while so I can get by with the current shocks.

I'll make the relocation and flip kit a weekend project some day.

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Ive been running the oem kings with extended rod end and Dakars and they have worked very well for me. But my desire to tackle much more difficult trails has grown so I'm going with the relocate kit also. Should have my shocks in a few weeks.
IMO waiting and doing it right the first time, (or in my case the 4th time :anonymous:) is the way to go

Unless you have serious weight in the bed, or plan to do some rock crawling, the Dakars and Icons will be great. So much better than the TSB springs and stock Bilsteins.

So I would really appreciate some pics/specs and extension/compression numbers from you can swing it, George.
Are those the billet rod ends?

I'm going Tepui because they're a bit cheaper and I can drive to Santa Cruz a lot easier than I can drive to Bend Oregon.
