Extended stud from 03 matrix wont fit in my front hub

dont like the idea of having 1" spacers up front to clear calipers and did some searching found out stud from 03 matrix rear will fit,got them from NAPA and took of my caliper and rotor,hammer the old stud out and try to fit new stud and but didnt fit!! I tried with ball joint puller or put back oem wheel and tightening it with my snap-on mg725 impact but still wont fit
Is there any other stud that fit for 95 taco 4x4? Or what i did wrong

 

I've heard studs from Lexus IS-300 are a longer direct fit

 

You sure NAPA gave you the right ones......bring an original and compare to what they have.

 

95 taco 4x4 6 stud. assuming youre using either dorman 610-266 (40mm) or 610-312 (45mm), the best you can get is 610-463 (55mm).

now, the 610463 IS for a matrix. if you bought the stud from napa the cap of the stud should have 3 numbers in it. are those numbers 463?

this one says 568

 

also, if youre feeling brave, you can switch over to standard sizes, 1/2 x 20 thread and use part number 610-144 (2-7/8 - 73mm) but I need to know if you use the original mag style nuts cause i don't think they exist for either 1/2x20 studs or our stock rims.

Yes one i bought from napa is 641-4208 said on the box and the stud itself says 463

I Might have missed something here but, you said you're wanting extended studs instead of spacers to clear calipers? This won't help unless you DO use a spacer.. Right?

And using spacers is probably a better option. I swapped all my fronts with the Lexus ones. But that was because the rims p.o. put on barely didn't clear and had 1/4" spacer washers on em. The studs were way too short and two were stripped. So then the lugs ended up not fitting all the way on the Lexus studs, and dremeled off the lug caps to make them open ended. Was a pain. Wished I had just bought bolt on spacers. Will be converting it again eventually.

Just wanted to throw that out there in hopes you don't have the same issue. But was just trying to understand how extended studs alone are gonna help clear without a spacer?

 

Currently running 1" spacer and my wheels stick out way too much so im trying to change 1/4" spacers so less stick out

There was only 1 Gen. of IS 300.....so 2003 is a good year.
I think....when they went to v6 didn't it become IS 350?

 

Gotcha. Keep in mind, that some tire shops(if you take it in for service) will not service it with the 1/4". They will require you to have hub centric bolt ons. Specifically discount tire for sure. Which is where I used to go. Now I'm stuck with big o, whom never seems to get shit right be it balancing/alignment/proper tire pressure. Just another reason I wanna get bolt ons. I think there's 3/4" bolt ons. I'm worried mine might stick out a lil too much too, but willing to live with it.

 

I utilized the same stud length as the IS 300...
but it's because my alloy wheel's center chunk was thicker then stock
and I wanted to utilize 6mm spacers up front
to clear my 295 tires increased width at full steering lock (L/R).

I believe the rears will be shorter studs then the are the fronts
And are likely about the same length as are on the Matrix.

But I have not swapped out the rear lug studs as of yet...
because I use open end, extended length lug nuts for more threading.
And so the rears currently have a sufficient thread bite
and there is little - no real reason to change those out currently.

btw... I purchased my extended studs on ebay...
and tho' they were designated to fit the IS300
they will also fit many other Toyota needing extension.

The IS300 studs will be too long for thinner wheel
center chunk thicknesses mounted to the front
of the 1st gen Tacoma.

IMO they could be a little shorter...
but is not an issue when using open end lug nuts.

I think this picture is without the 6mm spacers installed.
But I would need go look currently to make that confirmation.

Tho' it wouldn't hurt if the Rr studs were slightly longer...
It's not enough to worry about or do
because the financial cost isn't worthy or necessary.

 

Yeah Big O sucks! They couldn't get my stuff right so I went to Les Schwab and paid to have the tires balanced and it got rid of my vibrations and took the invoice w/ how much my tires were out of balance coming straight from Big O to Les Schwab and back to Big O and handed the owner the invoice from Les Schwab and demanded my money back and he gave me the money back I had to spend at Les Schwab to get my tires balanced correctly! We had been fighting this vibration for 6 - 8 months and all it took was one trip to Les Schwab! I also had 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers which Big O had no problem with. I even took them off chasing the vibration and it was still there. But I sold my spacers anyways.

 

Do u know if i should get front or rear stud off lexus ls300? Or they both same length?

 

What i usually did i just go the the ghettoest tire shop in town with mexican workers,they will do anything as long you pay them,never worry about those liability/insurance and that kind of craps

 

I believe both front and rear of the IS300 are the same length.
But be sure to check that... because it's been a while for me.

if the studs are specifically for the IS300
and are the OEM hardware...
You will pay more for them.

So I advise on getting them in a generic sense.
And that is why mine were purchased on ebay.

'cuz the IS300 doesn't utilize 6 studs per wheel.

 

Yep same thing. Had vibes for a while too. Finally decided to just take the wheels down to discount one time. Vibes gone... Every time I get an alignment at big o it's never right. Gotta take it back at least once. Twice one time. And they always over air the tires. They put 39 lbs in my 33x12.5 on 15x10s once. 35 other times. They should be at like 29. Plus they tried telling me I needed new inner tie rods once and wanted to charge me an arm and leg to replace them. Turns out they were fine. Bunch of retards and scammers there. Never going back.
