2nd Gen CV axles

Fellas, reaching out again because I have an aftermarket driver side CV axle that has a split Boot and decided that I would return to OME. I Had my buddy who gets discounts through the stealership get me a price and the best he could do was $395. Of course I was like WTF!!! So my question is, does anyone know where you can Find OME equipment At decent price and why are they ridiculously cheaper on Rock Auto and other aftermarket vendors? Just doesn't seem to add up??? 70 bucks compared to 395, what gives???

The reason it is $70 VS $400 is auto parts store VS stealership - that's why it's called stealership

 

Is the truck lifted? Perhaps these replacement boots from AllPro would be better?

 

Thanks Rebecca I appreciate the heads-up and yes its lifted with ICON Extended Coil overs. The CV is clicking so I am going to take Rebecca's advice and will look into purchasing the All pro boots also.

BTW I'm a little dyslexic and meant OEM. Sheeez Lol

 

These are the outer boots, not inner boots. They will also require you to cut the flange off the original boot and stuff it inside the new one. I've done much searching for good CV boots. My inners always rip, and I have still not found a good solution to the problem (other than lowering the truck back down). I have become pretty good at replacing the boots though. I just get boot kits from the dealership for about $30. They come with everything you need to replace the boot.

 

That's cool, but the cv joint is clicking and will need to pick up a whole new assembly.
