A friend of mine has a set of BFG Rugged terrains with about 8000 miles on them. He is practically giving them to me. My question is, is it an improvement over the stock 245/75/16 firestone destinations. The BFGs are the same size LT245/75/16... advice please. Trying to see if it is worth it to have them mounted and balanced

    How worn are your tires?

How do you use the truck?

Are his tires evenly worn (low miles doesn't = good miles)

My tires only have 6k. The BFGs are in great shape. I was just looking for a new AT tire.

Your in Clearwater? I'm right across the bay from you in Apollo Beach

    Yes, Clearwater.

If they are an AT tire you want/need it's probably a good deal. You should easily sell your current tires on CL for enough to cover the exchange work, probably more. Just advertise the tire brand, size, mileage with lots of good pictures. It's pretty amazing some of the old tires I've sold on CL, usually quickly.

The caveat is that many owners don't seem to want to stick with OE tires, regardless of type. So, I guess it depends on how you use the truck and what you expect of the tires performance.
