Looking to fit 285 70 17s with a 3in lift and scs wheels 17x8.5 -12 offset. Is it possible without a bunch of rubbing? This truck is a dd with no hard offroad.

    what type of tires?
Some have reported no rubbing at all with 285s others have said it rubs a lot.

Regardless if you do go off road it will rub when flexing.

I have stocked wheels plasti dipped with 265/75/r16 on right now with lots of room.....putting 285/70/r17 ko2's on along with a 17x9 -12 offset........its going to kick my stance out about 3" because the stocked wheels are a +24 off set.....each 12mm is a 1/2"

I am running 285/70/r17 with a 3" lift and +1 offset. No issues with rubbing unless fully turned and running a curb. Here's the look

Probably falken wildpeak AT3W. I'm starting to think about giving up on the scs wheels with so much offset, it seems to be a real pain. Seems like ppl have very few rubbing problems with wheels like the toyota semas and the fn replicas.

Those numbers plugged into a ti84 would come out to be 1.5 inches more poke than your stock not 3"

Actually it's going to bring my wheels out 2 1/2" because just going from a positive 24 off set to a -12 is 1 1/2", then the wheels being 2" wider themselves, split that in half because the 2" width difference goes out 1" in and out so it's 2 1/2" out to be exact

You are only taking into consideration the +24 to -12 off set.......you are right there, it's 1 1/2" out, but then u go from a 7" to a 9" wider wheel........

Yea but talking about offset which is 1.5"... your wheel width doesn't add to your offset

That would just be how far you poke overall compared to the stockers

I understand that, we are both on the same page about the 1.5" offset. going to a wider wheel will make the footprint wider.....

Wonder if it would be easier to fit those wheels running a 255/80/17

I've been watching and reading a lot on fitting 33s and what I've seen so far is that the SEMA wheels work since they move the tire far enough away from the UCA. Aside from that very little reports of rubbing on 0 offset w/8" wheels. SCS wheels will almost certainly rub at full lock since stick out even further.

I'm running 286/65 r18 with the rancho 2.5'' lift, had to do a little plastic cutting but I have no rub. The kit doesn't level the truck so I removed the rear block.... basically a really expensive leveling kit with control arms haha

285/70-17 on a STT pro with huge side lugs. Took quite a bit of cutting on the cab mount
