    Nice!

For all those interested, im pretty sure this only works with the 2/3rz motors. For the 5vz mounts are different. But the Gm CS144 swap is the same basically.

I got a 160amp factory replacement off ebay over a year ago for about $125. Working well so far.

The Jag alt comes from the 90s XJ6 with the non supercharged 4.0L. I really liked it because it is a factory 120amp, not a cheap reman or rewind, it was designed and built by Denso to make that much power. I got mine from a 96 XJ6 for $60 on eBay.

No idea. I don't have the gussets.

It a rewound one? those work well but generally don't output any different at idle as an actually bigger alt. My Gm Cs144 does 100amp at idle vs the 30ish stock. Stock is 80amps at speed and the gm is 140.

But if it works it works!

I can only compare to my stocker but it kicks its ass at idle. Running all 8 offroad lights before would put me into the 12v range. stays 14s now. It also handled the lights while having to deal with 2k watts of audio a couple drunk buddies and an acdc cd.

Hey Monte, I'm super interested in doing this, as my electrical upgrades are next in line. Did you mean the CS144, not the C144? I'm asking because I found your reply on ExPo and you stated the 'S' part number. Was your install experience pretty much the same as the OP in that thread? Any other issues or tips? Thanks!

This swap only works for the 4cyl but it only costs as much as a couple trailer plugs and a used Jag alt. $60 in my case. The GM CS144 swap works for V6 guys with just a touch more tinkering to get the bottom mount solid. @Blackdawg has a section in Frankensteins build about making the harness although it's as simple as looking up the connector pin out and playing match the wires.

Some moron ran a red goin like 50 and nearly hit me, luckily I stopped probably inches before. There was a kid on his bike crossing the street right next to me too, which I think is what saved me because I glanced over at the kid and saw this idiot coming.. Pretty crazy
