We are just back from a weekend trip in our Quicksand 2016 TRD Off Road. We drove 434 miles on 18 gallons of fuel without any problems at all. The Texas high plains is where we live, the altitude here is 3111 feet and we drove to the mountain resort town in New Mexico [Ruidoso] elevation 7,000 feet. Nothing squeeked, transmission shifted perfectly, no wind noises and the JBL system is fabulous. The OEM tonneau cover works perfectly and didn't leak. IDK what to say, I know that this report goes against everything in this Forum. What a great little truck.

Has it gotten so bad that people need to report on a 400 mile successful trip?

Yes, not only that, but a 400 mile pavement (I'm guessing?) trip. But my favorite are still the ones that trade in for a new Tacoma every few years and then boast about how "all they've ever had to do are oil changes to their bulletproof Tacos."

24mpg is excellent. Did it actually rain? Hasn't been much around here lately. 2" in Dallas Friday morning but we really needed it.

I've taken my rig camping in Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, plenty of race tracks all over CA while hauling a 500lb motorcycle in the bed, and my daily driver to work.

15k miles and no problems. Love it.

You do know that you cursed your truck and next week the motor will drop a cylinder.

Honestly, if I would hate my Tacoma as much as many here do, I would just simply get rid off it.
Hey, life's too short to be so annoyed about your vehicle.
Go buy another truck and move on...
