A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
I really like Giant MotorSports bed cage but for $2,300. My guy here could do some sick work. He wanted to do the suspension, unfortunately I found him after I was committed with Baja Kits.So he will be upgrading the suspension instead. 2wd or 4x? If 2 go with aftermarket. Stronger and more travel with a kit build for it.

If 4x there are spindles available just more money. There are a couple guys on here with 4x with fabricated spindles. @dirt designs & @TRACperformance both have great 4x kits. Im partial to @TRACperformance since he has built my whole truck lol

Yup, just saw it there last week on a truck they were finishing up looked rad. I'm not an expert but the spindles, hubs and axles all looked very similiar to the Solo kit. Super clean and full weld porn like all of Trac's work.

Appreciate the info, unfortunately I have already gone with the TC kit and am just saving up for the install. I really contemplated going with the DMZ kit, but with being on the east coast I cant really justify going that hard right now. Also, I would want someone on the west coast to install a true LT kit if I ever got back over there.

What are you doing for shackles? Sticking with the ones that come with the kit? Are you adding shock hoops or keeping the factory shock mounts?

Sorry I should of elaborated there...I got the 12 inch king shocks made for the BAMF relocation kit so I hope to get about 12 inches when everything is all set up and installed with the TC kit.

So rather than hoops you're using the BAMF relocation mounts... interesting. I had seen the BAMF mounts and had been thinking something similar when I started thinking about a mid travel rear setup. When are you thinking this will be installed?

Yep part of the reason was I didnt intend to go with this setup initially and was going to sell the BAMF kit and shocks. I talked to TC and they have used the mid travel kit with a custom shock relocation that they are still working on and will be released probably in a year or so. TC said that the BAMF kit is probably the closest thing to what their shock relocation will be like. Once hearing this I decided to keep my bamf stuff and then go forward with the TC mid travel. Since I will only be getting around 12-13 inches in the front when I put on an older camburg 3.5 kit I wanted it to match up somewhat with the rear. I was originally going to install hoops and go with a dmz kit, but I really dont want to pay the amount of money that a shop around on the east coast might charge as many arnt familiar with an LT install and I could see the labor being painfully expensive for them to learn off my build. I plan to get this done in about 4 weeks from now, just making sure I have a good amount of funds in case the labor gets out of control. I can def post up how it looks at the end of the day when its done.

Got it. I'm in the same boat - not huge travel numbers in front with 12" quoted by @JT@Bajakits and wanted to match the rear with the front as much as possible without going through the bed for now. I'm thinking someone can do hoops out here since there's a lot of fabricators that do that kind of stuff, but I imagine it will get about the same travel as the BAMF mounts. Definitely would like to see some pictures and maybe a more in-depth build thread on your truck - looked at your retrofit job - looked clean. 4 weeks - almost there

You can get away with 14" kings in the rear just have them weld the lower rod ends straight to the shaft. Have your upper shock hoops built like the hoops tc used on their women's rally truck. They used standard rod ends on their 14" bypasses, but the lower mounts hang a little low. Having king weld the rod ends on will shorten the shocks overall length about 1.5".

Personally I'd try to get as much as possible out of the rear. You'll need more travel in the rear to keep up with the front. With 12" in the front I'd want a minimum of 15" in the back of possible. When you're ready to do the shock hoops hit me up, I'm not to far from you and can hook you up.

I was thinking of hitting you up earlier today actually lol... I noticed most big dawg long travel trucks had an additional 4-5" more travel in the rear than in the front so I'd like to get the most travel out of the rear like you said. I checked out that truck - the hoops looked interesting because they were bolted to the frame, but the places where they were bolted were gusseted. They also bolted with a plate to the bed wheel well. I imagine those would be a one off for that truck since I didn't see them online for sale. Would you be able to fab up some hoops like that?

Those are definetly a one off and would need to be built to fit your specific application. We can definetly get you a set built. I would also recommend a bolt on crossmember that connects the two shock towers together inside of your bed. It can be very simple and you won't lose any bedspace and won't require and holes bigger 3/8" being drilled into the bed

I'd be interested in that if it could be quickrelease kind of like a lot of engine bay strut tower crossmembers are. I usually sleep in my bed  and it would be cool to be able to take it out when I need to use all of my bed for large items and get to where I'm camping at the end of a day.

I keep forgetting your a single cab. I'm so used to short beds. You can run them up against the back of the bed so they do t take up any space. We can definetly build something that will fit your needs and be out of the way and/or easily removed
