It's not harming anything and nothing to worry about. It would be deemed normal. If your worried about it like others said grab a can of fluid film or some type of lubricant or grease and soak it

Rust on a bolt isn't a warrantable things. Your Tacoma has a warranty on rust but it covers spots on the body and the frame. A rusty bracket that holds like a charcoal canister or something on or a rusty tie rod end or ball joint isn't covered in that. Also 3rd parts warranties don't cover rust either. So if a part needs replaced and its due to rust, basically they consider that negligence and it's not warrantable.

I'm going to respectfully disagree. The rust along the weld bead on the A arm is unacceptable for a truck (3 months old?). I understand that specific component (A arm) would have to undergo serious rust before being at risk to fail, but in my opinion, speaks to the overall protection process that Toyota uses. I'm no where near an expert, but I worked for a rich farmer for 5 years and crawled under many trucks 1, 2 even 3 years old, and they all looked better than what I see being posted on these 2016 tacos.

To be clear, I plan on buying a taco as soon as it is confirmed that the rust issue is fixed on the new model. However, I do not have a warm and fuzzy feeling at this point.

My truck only has 500 miles on it. Rust on the threads of the ballpoint. Any coating on the threads is going to come off when they screw the nut on. Those are tight threads and need to be. You don't want that backing off. Those are harden bolts, they will only ever have minor surface rust. Also you can see the machined end of the spindles. Mine are already starting to rust. Again it's only going to be surface rust. I'm not worried at all. I already undercoated the entire underside area of the truck. But if I was concerned about these areas I would of treated them as well. In my area everything rust. I live in the salt belt. We get 70-100+ inches of snow every year. The frame is the biggest concern. It's not as thick as a full size and not fully boxed. Match that with Toyota's known frame issues and it's a no brainier to have some sort of added protection. Infact Toyota even sprayed parts of the frame with a type of fluid film.

This is on my '17 OR. Undercoated it myself the next day after buying it. Was surprised to see they sprayed some fluid film on certain parts of it

Yes, my SoCal only truck that has seen a total of about 3 days of rain in 7 months looks like that. So I would say totally normal for this vehicle.

Cool, was that the dealer or factory that did that? Do you what it was they spayed with, thought you said fluid film like. I am still undecided what I am going to do when I get mine, but if I do it my self needs to be able to be a drive way job and don't want to do anything to counter what they do, depending on what the use, may be wise to use that.
