Will those lines on the monitor move back and forth as you turn the wheel?

Nice, looks good and clean. Still need to figure out how to tie in my factory camera into my head unit. Just have not had time to look into it.

No, not that advanced, but they are quite helpful when backing into tight spaces.

Slightly older post, but FWIW I experienced noticeable brake fade coming down a steep mountain side trail. If I was in one of my previous trucks I would have been using a low gear in the manual to give the breaks a brake, but in the auto I just used the brakes. Smelled pretty awful once I stopped moving at the bottom.

My neighbor and I installed a new Sony touch screen head unit with a backup camera a little over two weeks ago, and as I said before I used the restitution money from Sir Drinks-A-Lot to pay for most of it.

Ever since they stopped making regular cabs, I have decided that I am never going to sell this truck. EVER. It may be a little bit beat up (hey, it's a truck, and I use it for it's intended purpose), but it has never failed to start, it has always been there for me when I needed it, and it has the three basic creature comforts I desire:

Obviously, it is very reliable. My truck has NEVER had any mechanical problems, aside from the time the master cylinder failed. It also starts and has never left me stranded

Creature comfort #1: Finger-numbing and nipple-hardening ICE COLD A/C (7 years after and almost 70,000 miles after my dad bought the truck and over a year after I rear-ended a Mustang and bent the radiator support, it still has the original charge of R134a it left the factory with in August 2009 and as of summer 2016 is blowing 41°F at the vents; Virgin A/C system; With the exception of the Toyota tech checking the charge when I brought the truck in for it's last oil change in like June 2016, the system has never been opened up or f****d with in any way.

Creature comfort #2: A powerful heater that gets so hot it will probably pop a bag of Orville Redenbacher's on its highest setting (I have not actually tried this LOL).

Creature comfort #3: An aftermarket stereo that will absolutely destroy the factory systems in vehicles costing three times as much (I have confirmed this).

Client: "Hey, there's Vinnie over there, let's drop by to see what's up."
Me: "Sure thing, I've got time."
Taco: **turns hard left while in 4H, up a hump then down a decline, straight into an off-road dump truck haul path, burying the front bumper into mud**
    We Three: "We're stuck good."

Locked the rear diff, tried rocking between drive and reverse, engaged A-TRAC... no luck. Way too much weight in the front with the ass-end uphill. I drive these sites all the time and know better. It makes it all the more embarrassing. Called a dozer to give me a tug. Vinnie had a chuckle.

Driven a 5 speed manual for over 10 years, but first time with a 6 speed in the "left and up" reverse position on my brand new truck. Got stuck in parking lot traffic at our local REI. Decided I would back up to go another route. Every time I thought I had it in reverse, I had it in first. Then after I backed up and needed to go forward, every time I thought I had it in first, I had it in reverse. So for a solid 3-4 mins everyone got a wonderful show of a bright red truck rocking back and forth like a child whose having a tantrum on the floor. It was such a spectacle that every vehicle around me just stopped to watch the show, which only made the traffic worse.

So far, knock on wood, this is the most embarrassing thing I have done.

    Sorry for the long title...

My truck has about 68,500 miles on the odometer as of this post. Based on the current amount of driving I do annually, I believe it will hit 100,000 miles between late 2018 and late 2019. I drive 14 miles a day round trip to and from work. Sometimes I go home and the the 14 mile round trip twice, for a total of 28 miles per day. This base of 28 miles does not include any driving I do during working hours. When I'm not working, I drive my truck up to two hours away from home (one way) for car shows). My truck has low mileage for it's age, but I have steadily been putting more and more miles on it annually since about 2013.

The highest-mileage 2.7L/auto Taco I've ever seen was a 2005-2008 regular cab 2WD with 300K miles that was part of a fleet owned by a seafood distribution company. It had a refrigerated cap/enclosure on the back, so the bed was essentially turned into a seafood freezer. The driver said the truck ran and drove perfectly, that it did not feel like a 300K miles truck, and that the A/C even still worked.

I'm just wondering if anyone has a 2.7L automatic Taco with 200K-300K miles on the original engine. Doesn't matter what cab configuration it has or if it is 4x4 or 2WD.
