For those of you who own the USA Spec PA15-Toy.... does yours get sluggish during cold weather? Like....low 30's or lower.

    Just curious....

Mine often takes longer to start playing in the cold weather. It often forgets what playlist and song it was playing the last time the truck was running. Weird.... but understandable. Cold sucks on electronics!
It doesn't have any problems in the warmer temps.

Yes. A little bit. Usually what I do, is just manually go to the playlist I want, and it works fine.

OOoooo, that defeats the purpose of having the playlists! :D

Thanks - just needed to know if this was normal for the unit. My husband has one in his Acura and it acts weird in the cold weather also - but I had to ask.

I select the playlist I want thru the HU, not the Ipod itself....Seems to help "Wake it up". :)

It got worse....much worse, and the temp was like 40 degrees. Somethings not right. I started looking at the ipod itself.... and sure enough, it was acting all weird. While I was playing with it, it locked up.

Rebooted the ipod and everything is fine.

That was weird....never had an ipod lock up like that before.

How do you reboot it? Did you loose anything?

I think he means he just reset it. On my classic, if I press and hold the middle button and the menu button at the same time, it will reset after a couple seconds.

My classic seems to freeze up a lot these days. I think it has something to do with the alpine x305 in my Subaru.

Installing a PA15-TOY tonight, so we'll see if it works any better.

Never happened to mine, but I did notice that it has skipped mid-song to the next song. Don't remember if it was cold or not

No problems so far, however my ipod hates the cold. You can reset the ipod when plugged into itunes, however you will have to upload all of your music again.

Like ekard said.... Press the middle button and the top of the scrolly at the same time. The little apple will come up. I call that a 'reboot'. You don't lose anything - it just reboots the firmware (so to speak).

Buzoff - yeah, mine has skipped to the next song early before. Doesn't happen very often and why I haven't figured it out. I just figured the files got corrupted or it was a failed CD transfer or something. I was gonna start writing the songs down so I could check my files -but I never got around to it.

I had a USA Spec in my Honda Accord before getting a taco. I remember it being sluggish in cold. Not sure if it was the iPod or the USA Spec, but it still was a great setup, even with the cold start.
