Well I bought a 16 tacoma sport crew 4x4 in Dec and seat comfort I could not figure out but loved it otherwise. Came from tundra. Then I sold the taco and ordered Chevy colorado diesel z71. I did not want to leave toyota and I am definitely not a gm fan. That said after having the taco I liced the size and fun. Don't like the looks of my Chevy as much but seat doesn't hurt my back. I am very happy with it so far at 6 months in and 19500 miles on it already. No issues. I have averaged 28.3 mpg and it has been good. It does not offroad as well as the taco and I like the taco looks better in and out. Plus I like toyota. The diesel is great but I also miss the gas too. They do have differences. Nothing wrong with either. If I had to choose after having both I'd prefer the diesel. But again both are good. I am thinking of trying another taco in a 17 in DC offroad package with with premium package if I can figure out way to get seat comfort. Id get it and keep my colorado and fix up the taco with lift and bigger tires and make it a weekend toy but first have to figure the seat issue out with why it hurts my back legs. Something I must be not doing because seems everyone says they are comfortable. I do like the taco.

How would you compare the ride on the street to the taco? I hear mixed reviews on that.

the ride between the two are really close it on smooth road. Example. We have new fresh hyw for 10 miles between my house and work. it is 40 mile one way commute. I don't thin one is better than other. Both real good and quite interiors. Once you get to other hyw that is older and has some issues not so smooth the Colorado seems to be better hyw ride but not huge difference but noticeable. But the Tacoma I felt when driving was more fun and more agile I guess may be the words. If I could get the seats or maybe it is mix seat position and seats not being able to adjust to get me comfortable in the taco I think the taco is more fun and I like the interior better. Now my wife says the Colorado is much nicer interior than the Taco and comfort much better in the Colorado because she could not raise her seat and adjust to see better and get it way she likes even as passenger. The taco is smaller interior and I do notice that but I am ok with that it is just wife and I. Offroad the Tacoma is so much better stock at least due to clearance. I think the diesel is very good in the offroad part of the Colorado but you really need to take front air skirt off it. I know after now having both they really are both nice trucks and each have different things about them. With as many miles as I put on owning one of each will help me split the miles and I can have best of both if I can get some help on how or what I am doing wrong on getting seat to work.

That's probably one of the better responses between the two I've read in awhile. The seat position is always a topic of discussion about tacomas. When I came from my ranger to the taco I felt weird at first but 2 tacomas later I don't notice it anymore

What? No. Please cite your source before making an outrageous claim. In fact you're contradicting yourself.

Well I hope I can figure it out on them. Im going to only work half day tomorrow then take off rest of week I have to use all my vacation or lose it by end of month and have 12 days. I plan on gong to Toyota dealer tomorrow and test drive the 17 taco again and see how it isafter being in the Colorado for 6 months. I had come out of a tundra crew when I went to taco and I can say the tundra is much better and more comfortable than the Colorado and Taco but do not need that big truck and it wasn't as fun so maybe the taco will feel different after being in Colorado for 6 months. If I do figure it out I will then have to figure color. My sport was the Quicksand. My Colorado is white. So hope I can get comfortable and if so ill pick a color and do a good lift that makes it smoother and put some 34s on it

Guys, he's gone for another few months before he comes here to wave the GM flag (sans owning a truck of course), let's not jinx it and drag him back here by talking about him. :p

In all seriousness I've had the same conversation as this with him in another thread. He'll resort to saying you're unemployed and stupid before he will admit anything about GM is worse or less than Toyota or Ford.

He comes and goes from this site. About a year ago he said he was in the market for a Tacoma or Colorado for immediate purchase. I can't even remember which thread it was but I made a pretty innocent comment about the locker on the GM's being prone to failure (I had one go off on me and grenade the diff on my early 2000's GM). He took it personally. When I replied 4 times in a day he accused me of being unemployed, unimportant, and poor. None of which are true BTW, but it's the internet so you know how that goes. He also made several comments about being a superior being in all ways because he was in the air force (WTF?). I never even mentioned anything about his service or the service of anyone else lol.

He still doesn't own a truck either and when you ask for pics he'll post images that look like they were taken on the beach in the 70's of trucks from at least a decade ago...

Trust me, this isn't a guy you can reason with by providing sources or YouTube videos clearly illustrating what you are talking about. He'll throw it back at you, accuse you of being a keyboard warrior, and then go full retard on you with insults.

Edit: I should also mention DoorDing was in on the conversation and pulled a pretty big WTF as well. He left shortly after. It's posters like that guy that likely made him feel leaving this site was for the best :(.

Well Dodge did turn it down for their 1500 series based on fuel economy. This just backs that up.

Plus most of the guys who brag about 20 mpg plus miles per gallon on a Diesel full sized truck have pulled off all the emissions equipment or have a truck that never had it installed. Diesels were a totally different ball game 15 years ago.

I was half joking. my point was BMW's have crap resale value, and cost an arm and a let to repair, which you will do at a rate at lease double to that of a Toyota. If you were to remove the BMW emblem and sold them as a non-Lux brand they would be considered terrible cars. I don't understand how they get away with making cars that end up the shop as often, and for so much. They aren't more luxurious than a loaded non-Lux brand. The 3 series has a plastic interior. Drives great, but so do a lot of cars now days. Sorry to rant.

There's a lot of taco owners that would consider a 2.7 f150 for their next ride. If it were available when I bought my truck I may have gotten one myself.

Well, I was considering a Taco 3rd gen but went with an F-150 2.7L. Between the supposed reliability issues, the low-ball trade-in offers I got on my 5th gen T4R and the extraordinary difficulty in getting a manual TRD sport/OR, I decided the tacoma wasn't meant for me. I started looking at full-size trucks. The Tundra's MPGs are horrendous and I drive too much to afford that. Plus, they're really expensive compared to the competition. Chevy was assigned a really bad predicted reliability by CR (1/5) and I read quite a few bad reviews/posts on the problems they had with their transmissions and engine shudders. I did quite a bit of reading on the f-150 and decided to take a gamble. It may not have the same reliability as Toyota but I think the F-150s are pretty good (predicted 4/5 on CR). I am still not sure about the longevity of the EcoBoosts, but I did find a few guys getting 250k plus on their 2011 3.5Ls. I got a full-size loaded crew cab XL 4x4 sport for about $35k. Not bad, especially compared to a TRD OR. Tons more space and averaging 20MPG in mixed driving. The turbos have great pick-up.

All that sounds great, but let's see where I am in 10 years.

That Bronco will never look like that. They never look as cool as the initial promo shots. Why?

    Ok, source...

    http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/10/september-2016-pickup-sales-breakdown.html

He said sells more TRUCKS as in pickups overall, that includes mid size, full size and HD combined. GM has sold about 100k more trucks than Ford YTD. He isn't just looking at Silverado & Sierra vs F150...
