I would like to take a second to ask you all a question just to make you think.

Most if not all of us in this thread have thought about and/or prepared for potentially using a gun in your home to defend yourself or your loved ones.

Are you prepared? Do you have a light and firearm where they are accessible and loaded?
A friend of mine messaged me on social media and shared a little story about his evening, a little back story on this friend of mine.
He's a very intelligent guy who analyzes everything, he's a successful business owner and is knowledgable in many areas, not usually the type of person where everything has its place and everything is in its place when not being used.

This evening while his family was in bed and he was in his living room he heard what sounded to be glass breaking outside.

Yep, and he's supposedly even been to a few courses on how to be a gunsmith.
He told me yesterday he's working on getting his FFL.

Much of stuff in school is worthless in the real world. What they need to be teaching is how to get a job, how to shut your mouth and do what you are told, How not to expect to get a $40 an hour job coming out of high school, How to do basic maintenance on your vehicle--such as change a tire, battery, wiper blades, fuses etc.., How to have a good work ethic.

Yeah, they used to have all of that stuff, it was called the vocation and trades classes like metalworking, auto shop, electronics, auto mechanics, woodworking, drafting, cosmetology, home economics etc. etc. they used to have courses like DCT and Work co-op programs that prepared you for the real world. They canceled all those things and drop them from the school system so now you have things like common core, because clearly the people in charge know best, right?

That's funny, operate a screwdriver. Maybe that's why they can't use it.
because it didn't come with instructions. LOL
