Garmin eTrex series are great for hiking. I would get a 20 or 30 series (eTrex 20 or eTrex 30 to be clear). Theyre waterproof and relatively easy to navigate the menus and they really aren't all that expensive.

If you want a touchscreen and have $$$ to spend the Garmin montana series is where I would start.

Friday morning 2 friends and I headed to Moab, Ut where we were greeted by 100's of Jeeps. Most even appeared to be running and driving!

We were gonna camp at Sand Flats Rec. Area, but it was full. So we headed out to BFE and accidentally camped in the middle of a group of 8 Land Cruisers.
Ran a couple easy trails and walked some of the harder ones like Britney Spears and El Dorado :drool:

Woke up Saturday morning and ran Top of the World because I remember reading it was easy and debatably 2WD accessible. So I thought I could finish it fairly quickly and then drive to Colorado. The problem was, I'm not capable of taking easy lines or going around anything ever.

New skid plate doing wonders for my approach angle.

After that we headed to Crested Butte, Colorado.

Sadly, most of my photos are pretty blurry after that.
    We ran Engineer Pass first.

I feel like I read Stefan ran it in his 2nd gen at some point. After running it though, I'd agree.
Roughly 3 days. Although Sunday, I started driving at 5 am and didn't finish until midnight. Which was driving from Crested Butte, running those 3 passes, and then driving back to Tempe.

Awesome trip. Can't imagine running all three passes and driving home in one day. I know it was absolutely beautiful when we were out there in August. Ran engineer, cinnamon, black bear, Imogene and Ophir passes when we were there.
