The emblem pops off very easily with light pressure on the two top tabs...the bottom tab has a slight lip on it and once you pop the top two you just move the emblem forward to release the bottom tab.

The plasti-dip will peel off of it quite easily w/out issue.

It is actually easier to separate the grille into smaller pieces vs mask all that off. Takes minutes to pull apart carefully.

2.5" OME lift, Fox 2.5 coil overs, all pro expo leafs, ubolt flip kit w/ upgraded bump stops, 1.25" wheel spacers, 16" Bronze KMC Impact OL wheels, 295/75/r16 Nitto grapplers, beige Softopper, Brute force front bumper w/smittybilt winch, RCI rear bumper, caliraised rock sliders, TRD IFS skid plate custom swingout tailgate w/spare tire mount, TC bed stiffeners, Magnum force CAI, KC spotlights, tacomabeast headlights, rear seat molle panel odds and ends, hi lift, MESO interior lights, and a fuck load of patches… more planned for later.
I know this is a 3rd Gen forum but for those of you wondering about durability, this was my old truck and I dipped the badges, grill, and chrome bumper inserts. Went through many trails and hard washes afterwards and held strong for 5 years. Only 5 coats

I found the Tacoma badges in matte black but not the V6. Dipped it last night and now I'm thinking I shouldn't have ordered the others. I'm impatient though.

I took my truck up to the coin car wash and sprayed the shit out it and no peels , before I sprayed everything I washed it down and then cleaned it with 70% alcohol and dryed it good so it bonded great

Is that mean better to rub it gently? How do brake dust stick on the dipped wheel?

I never dipped my wheels just the grille and emblems, but that is a good question about brake dust on rims

I think many of us including myself who have not tried dipping are concerned about washing and rubbing...Anyone?

I dipped my hood scoop the other day... there was some bug crap on it and I took a paper towel to rub it off.... It scratched the shit outta it... I had to add another coat of Dip.... I'm not sure this shit is any good ...long term...

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I had the same thing happen on my grille... So I ordered the Pro grille...
