I believe I may have attended what this thread may consider a porn star block party this weekend in Mississippi.

Cruisin the Coast. I only went to the Ocean Springs area, but cars are in six different locations along the coast. Was told that last year there were over 8000 vehicles.

...^^^... Sign says it was $6,000.00 in 1961  .... If that was the correct price ... that was VERY expensive for 1961.

IIRC ... a base 1965 GTO (389/335, 4 bbl., 3 spd. new) was about only about $3,200.00 in 1965 ... so this 1961 was VERY expensive.

    Dude.. totally would.

The paragraph on the door is giving me a minor pause.. I'll have to try and remember to type that into the Googler later.

If I'm sounding slightly stoopid.. I blame it on not sleeping since Saturday night.

Compare a new Camaro SS to a loaded Cadillac Escalade. Luxury cost a lot then and now.

I've had this book for a long time. It includes list price for every model and pretty much all option prices. Here is a breakdown best I can tell for that wagon.

    61 New Yorker T&C wagon $4871
    Power Windows $107
    Power seats $102
    A/C $714 - That's expensive.
    Golden Touch tuner radio $124
    Power Antenna $26
    Sure Grip $52

    Total $5996

There was no listing for the Cross Ram option price.
