Man, I've been reading up on this thread for a while now. The only question I can't seem to find an answer is this:

After removing the weather strip, applying the silicon around/in the factory mounting holes, how far down in those holes do you push the spacers? Also, do the spacers just fit in those holes? How "snug" are they? I ask because it seems like the entire rack depends on the integrity of this step in the installation.

    Thanks a ton fellas!

Ahhh....I see. So then you just insert the screw through the rack mount plate, which the feeds down through the spacer, then into the factory mounting hole?

    Add silicon for water resistance.

Has anyone put their full size spare on top of their cab rack?

I have temporarily. I don't like it up there cause it is a pain to get up and down, but the rack handles it fine.

Big thanks to zscott. Installed my Prinsu rack today and couldn't be more pleased. How do you make a Taco look better? Put a Prinsu rack on it :).
Now I need to find a light bar and start accessorizing this thing for the next adventure.

I am working on it. UPS is giving me some grief on rates to Hawaii. They jumped up and I am trying to mitigate that. Otherwise it is in the box ready to go.

I searched and didn't see a definite answer (could be one out there though that I didn't see), but what's the added height to the roof with the rack? Talking about a Cabrac specifically, as I have height constraints in my work parking garage and I need to still fit in there :anonymous: Thanks! :D

The rack will about 2.75" to the top of the roof. If you have the sharkfin antenna it is only about .5" taller than that.

All gravy! Quick response from Zach.

I had planned on a FrontRunner one, but I measured Tyler's and it's 5-6" IIRC. That cuts it too close for fitting in my parking garage at work, and especially once I do dirty 5's and swap out 700 # coils, no way.

I like my FrontRunner bed rack, so I had hopes to match it :anonymous:
