Any Tacoma timing chain issues I should worry about?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
A V6 with a 5 speed would be even better. Even the 3.4 Runners weren't anything to brag about power wise because they're a good bit heavier than the Tacoma's, but not as bad as a 3.4 Tundra at least. I can only imagine how sad one of those must be! The 3.0 was a lemon, but the 3.4 is a gem. Aside from the timing belt, they'll run forever just like the 4 bangers when properly maintained. I intend to run mine until it just stops working. I might be retirement age by the time that happens! Hopefully some texting and driving asshole won't total it for me first. Already been rear ended once but was able to get repaired thankfully!

The ad is working now. That's exactly how my brother's 4-Runner looks.
I bought my '96 Tacoma last year, with 71K, for $400. It's a stripper, stick-shift model, with no AC. It had a dead radio and a tranny problem that I 'fixed'.
Then I added a used ARE fiberglass cap to make it a $700 truck.

Yeah. Several years ago, I had the chance to test drive a '98 4-Runner with an autobox and the 2.7 four, and was surprised how peppy it felt, compared to my brother's 3.0, even back when his was running on all six. And no timing belt to worry about on the 2.7!
