Most everyone is rolling HAM. I have both CB and HAM. I recommend we pick a freq from this list: 151.820 MHz * 151.880 MHz * 151.940 MHz * 154.570 MHz * 154.600 MHz

I also have Both, Ham and CB. but no license for ham yet, so I can only listen. MURS might work for me.

Either works from me. Planning on hanging with you guys Saturday night. I got some pretty good steak I like to share at the meet ups so I'm gonna bring a couple pounds of that.

Been using the HAM for a while without license. There a number of channels to run so if I ever get interference I just switch to another. No plans to get licensed. That's just me though.

Yes you can. Do you have a pig tail yet as well as a barrel adapter for your Baofeng?

Technically, you can only listen to the MURS channels as well with your HAM radio. What people don't understand is that there isn't just a frequency restriction, but also a radio classification restriction. see below comment...

As an example, regarding radio classifications, if the radio that you are using is a "HAM" radio, then you can only, technically, use it for HAM radio frequency channels. If it is a GMRS/FRS radio, then only those frequencies that are associated to that classification can only be used for those radio types and technically, you DO NEED a license for GMRS use, but there is NO TEST required. If you are going to use MURS, then you, technically, need to use a MURS radio. Regarding CB, it is illegal to TX CB frequencies (11m) ON a HAM radio and vice versa... again, technically.

Btw, each radio classification has specific max wattage TX as well. Example, 1) CB is 4W max 2) FRS is 0.5W max 3) etc...

Please keep in mind that it is a $10k fine if caught TX'ing HAM w/o a license and possible jail time!!! Of course, if cought. But, obviously, I'm not stopping any of you for doing what you are doing, just making sure that you are aware!!! Btw, if caught, believe ME, they WILL do it!!!

I think I'm gonna have to hit up an HRO in person to grab those. Maybe stop by the one in Anaheim?

You can barrow the one I have for now so you don't have to go. Believe me, it's been SITTING for quite some time now, LOL!!! This way, you can use it at your leisure for the upcoming trip. You can ALWAYS return it to me later Denny. Just giving you that option so that you don't have to worry about it and simply concentrate on your other 100+ items going on in that noggin of yours, LMAO!!! :tinfoilhat::rasta::help::annoyed::crazy::goingcrazy:

Oh man you're making my day that much better. Maybe once I've seen yours I'll have a better idea on what I'm looking for at HRO anyway? The coax came in today, I think all the parts except antenna will be here by Wednesday or so.
