    Glad to hear my old truck triggered some ideas for your build :D

    You shared your story the other day with me and It totally makes sense why and how you want to build your truck. It's a great way of honoring your family!

    I agree with your points. Many people assume, wrongly, that buying an already built SASed truck is cheaper. It is NOT. Many sell rigs that have a lot of issues. There's a good amount of threads on this and other forums about people "re-SASing" a rig after they bought it. Tons and tons of money to re-do such a big project.

    I would never buy a SASed rig unless It is local and I've seen it closely to see exactly what they did; or a rig with a fully documented build on an online forum so that I can see exactly how they built it.

    If you are sure that you are never going bigger than 35"s (famous last words lol) and are a moderate wheeler, then i think the D44 will be fine if you get chromo shafts and REID knuckles.

    But if 37"s or bigger are in the horizon and you start wheeling harder, I would reconsider getting bigger axles. The 2nd gen tacomas are heavier and more powerful than the 1st gens.

    Letzroll is legit. You saw my rig and the other rigs there; including the Ultra 4 race cars. They know their stuff for sure. They'll build you a great rig when you are ready to SAS yours.

    Pfft....I try to use a Halon extinguisher. THey make short work of any fire. AND leave no mess. Seriously. If you want an FE, those are the ones to get. Unlike a DC fire extinguisher, they don't need to be recharged after each use. The one in my kitchen is still at 2/3 fill, and has put out 2 kitchen fires, and a fire in my wall. Aside from the misc little fires from time to time, and its going on 16 years old.
