It's the same for me. A small amount of overtime, and I'm making the same as low level management. They get paid for 40 hours, and work closer to 50+, and also have to show up for random meetings. It's also not worth it with the extra BS they deal with either. Quite a few have stepped down because of it.

I have a boot kit from SDHQ if you want it.

Appreciated but I already ordered a full replacement cv shaft assembly for the truck. I'll keep the old pieces and examine them. I'll have to have my tenant do the work since I'm slammed with work this week and can't get time off to work on the truck.

You're correct, they most certainly can be rebuilt. SDHQ has a popular rebuild kit. Messy but easy. Don't get rid of your stock unit, rebuild it. They can go quite a while with a split boot and still be just fine.

Did you go with an oe cv joint? Aftermarket ones have less range of motion than oe and consequently break much easier. Yours honestly doesn't look bad, a simple reboot should make it good as new.

Yea 95% of the time I run with OEM stuff for my vehicles unless its an aftermarket upgrade.

Currently researching options to retrofit a roof console from a murican' truck into mine... should be an interesting experience.

I was looking at the ARB model or the 4wdoutfitters for the Hilux but the roof line is different. I might have to do a custom one I just have a feeling it would be another in-over-my-head / never-to-complete project... haha

Morning, bitchasses. 30 degrees at the house today; the 69 balked when I cranked her over, but I choked her a bit and that warmed her up.

Yes, I wrote it that way on purpose.

Amazon. There's a small engine place near me that seems to get good reviews, Cleve's I think the name is.

It was 31 when I left the house at 4am to go to CVS to pick up 9 volt batteries for a chirping smoke detector.
Warmed up to 36 when I left again at 5 for the gym

That's what I have on my passenger's side (NAPA remanned). Been fine for the 10k or so I've had it for.

I destroyed my boot when I used the grinder to cut off a sway bar link. Didn't want to mess with re-booting it, those clips are a pain and it's actually more work than just swapping the entire thing.
