If it looks at all oily thats not a good sign unfortunately. What @yota864x4 said sounds like a likely culprit, its the only way I see your system displacing that much coolant to the reservoir.

Yup, mine was similar too. After a long hill climb or hard highway drive it would bubble into the overflow. Now I've got a whole new head and she's happy though.

Although I have no doubt I could have done the job myself, I was too busy with work and an upcoming vacation so I had a local shop with stellar reviews do it last year. They had their head guy swap my valves and cams and such over to a new head casting. Then they reassembled with new spark plugs, OEM head gasket, valve cover gasket and cam moon plugs, thermostat, and a fresh oil change. All said and done it was like $2400, but my engine is like new and runs fantastic so I'm happy.

Well we'll see what happens when I do the test it might just be something else. The stuff that was in my coolant could've just been rust and residue because I don't know if the radiator has ever been drained. Something to put on the list. I'm leaving for a week in like 5 days so if I diagnose it by then I'll just take it down to a shop and have them go at it. Shitty thing is is it's really gonna put a damper on my suspension budget.

Hard to tell if it's the head or the head gasket until the head is off the truck and has been inspected for cracks. So you can diagnose where the air is leaking to but you cannot diagnose by what means. I thought mine was just a headgasket until the head was inspected for cracks and sure enough there were four cracks in between valves going to the water jacket. So my advice to you is be prepared for the cost and make sure you have a full valve adjustment done no matter what the outcome (head replacement or just headgasket) because our exhaust valves have a tendency to tighten up over time and eventually crack the head. That's what happened to mine and could just as easily happened to yours if the valves have never had their tolerances checked and corrected.

In a state of emergency here atm. The roads are so badly damaged and washed out that driving around in a car isnt possible. Currently using truck to bring generator to familys house for sump pump to help with flooding. Only road out of town has been washed out so well have to try a little offroading to get on our way tomorrow.

Never thought my truck needed a snorkel before...

As far as what we were told this was only supposed to be the tail of the hurricane. If that is true then some of you guys are getn hit pretty damn hard down there. Yesterday morning it was calling for a measly 5mm rain. That quickly went to 60mm and now i can only guess what we got and what were still getting is much more.

Well I'm not sure, some guy had them on craigslist. They were chrome and a double bar set up. I took it down to one bar and painted it flat black

Changed oil and gave it a good wash again. Poor taco hasn't been getting much attention from me lately, stupid Lexus won't stop breaking. New mud tires on the way soon hopefully.

Roads are starting to drain. But are off limits to residents. Many many people with damaged homes though...

Total rainfall was around a foot setting a new record for this area. When we were only expecting light rain there was only 24 hours to prepare. Most people were caught off gaurd.

Well have this cleaned up in no time. As far as i know nobodys been hurt.
