What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

In many places you don't have the ability to view the work being done. If so, a few strategically-placed grease pencil marks will indicate what has and has not been checked.

 

Its only changed every 10,000 miles because 3rd gens run off of synthetic oil.

 

I added a 3" low range level lift. Put some 285/70/R17 nitto ridge grapplers on with xd series xd820 wheels. Really surprised how smooth it drives on the street. It hasn't seen dirt as of yet!!
I have installed all interior LED lights and reverse lights. Pretty bright. Looking to replace all exterior lights with LED eventually.

 

I used 80mm

 

Installed Lamin-X on the fogs. It's not easy to get all the bubbles out. I do like the yellow light.

 

if you install it with the light on, the heat from the bulb helps a lot in smoothing it out. especially in the edges where it seems to crease the most.

 

I used a heat gun and molded it to my fog lights... Worked great

It also helps to take the black bezel off so you can get to the side of the lens.

The lines on the @Pelfreybilt bumper are great. I was comparing them this weekend with some guys that had ARB and a few others. The welds are much more impressive and just overall craftsmanship is great. I would say go with the aluminum but that is all up to the user.

Replaced my rear diff fill crush gasket .Torqued to 36 Lb.Ft. (thanks to the 3rd gen maint. reference )
I checked and filled the level last week and it was low by 22 ozs . Original crush gasket leaked . Got new one via UPS . Old Trans case and front diff gaskets did not leak after reuse.
Still interesting that there was negative pressure in the diff while removing the filler plug with only driving 10 miles and it still makes me think that there is a diff breather problem .
Is there by design , a negative pressure in the rear end ? I did not find it in the Front diff , or the trans case .

 

Man black looks great clean and it looks great dirty. That's why I had to have a black truck.
