My setup is the smittybilt rtt and arb 2500 awning with enclosed room. Since im getting rid of my 2gen and getting a 3gen i moved everything to a trailer im currently working on. Should be done soon. Getting new axle and bigger wheels. Probably gonna keep the softopper on the new truck for more storage IMG_20160619_081750.jpg IMG_20160623_140727.jpg 20161003_080146.jpg

Is that a regular topper with the rooftop tent installed? I've been shopping for both....most topper dealers give round about answers for weight capacity. Just curious if any topper can handle the weight with no issue...or if you have to get a beefed up model.

I have a softopper and my tent was attached to the roofrack, they sell racks that go over the softopper i saw a member who bought the softopper and the rack that goes over to mount his RTT, if you get a hardshell you can mount it on top with no issue, i've seen plenty of them with tents on topIMG_20160704_165241.jpg

The XTender Canyon by VMI Off-road ( mentioned in post #732) is awesome! My wife and I are looking for a different camper and we are both enamored with the XTender Canyon, but not the price.

Trucked the FZ up to Texas Hill Country to ride the Three Sisters route last weekend. Camped at the Kerrville KOA (more suited for cabins and campers). Not enough twisty roads in south Texas...

IMG_2410.jpg IMG_2356.jpg IMG_2346.jpg Drove the family up to Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas this weekend. Loaded the gear under a tarp with a cargo net designed to clip into the bed rails. Bikes on a hitch mounted platform with wheel guides. Perfect weather for camping with lows around 45 at night.

It's not hard, just imagine a backpack that'll hold everything you think of. No need to cut the handles off of anything. Want a case of beer? no problem :)

Forgive me again. We are still in the return trip from buying our teardrop. And we used the Hubs 4R to get it. Our last night in the road was amazing!

Thanks for posting a pic of your 4runner with the TRD OR wheels on it... I'm wanting to upgrade the wheels on my taco and thought about replacing the nasty wheels on our t4r of the same vintage... looks great, was hoping to stumble on a pic of that set up eventually! Sweet camper too, I've always loved those
