    Update: 4/23/18

Unfortunately this plan never came to light. Decided the risk was too high to deal with and send money to a company overseas

    ————————————————

Seems to be alot of people wanting all black replacement emblems, at an affordable price. I just send an email to a manufacturer about making full black replacement emblems for the 3rd gen Tacoma.

    Edit:

After talking with the manufacturer, the seems I'm able to manufacture a complete kit for SR, SR5, Sport, and OR models. Depending on your truck model and options not all emblems will be used. However the kits will be sold with them.

    The kit will include:

    1) replacement Toyota emblems for the front grill

    2) Tacoma door emblems

    1) 4x4 emblem

    1) V6 emblem

    2) SR5 emblems.

I feel offering a full kit makes more sense for people looking to do full replacements. If I went the route of producing each emblem separately the costs would be a lot higher for customers who wanted to replace them all. Also I would have to sell half a order before I could order the next sets of badges as the molds are expensive to make.

I need to gauge interest here before I can decide if I'm going to pull the trigger on the manufacturing process. Please drop a line with any comments and concerns you have.

    Thanks!

Emblems will be identical as the OEM except in a black finish. Below is a overlay kit made by Nox-Lux just so you can get a reference of what they will look like. Any questions or anything please let me know

    Update: 10/17/16

Just got a quote back from the second company I reached out to. They broke the kit into 3 molds. This increased the price. I was expecting a full quote with all shipping, and any taxes included. However they just gave me the mold fees and the unit cost. I came up with a calculated estimate on my own and added some additional unknown expenses into that figure. I'm still currently within that figure. As it stands currently the full retail price WOULD be as follows:

Full kit (7 piece set) includes: (1) Toyota grill emblem, (2) Tacoma door emblems, (1) 4x4 emblem, (1) V6 emblem, (2) SR5 emblems

    Price: $99

This is subject to change ( higher or lower) depending on the 2 other quotes I am currently awaiting. These are not currently for sale and wouldn't be for a few weeks, If I decide to have them produced.

They have the molds split. The first mold is the Toyota grill emblem. The second mold is the Tacoma door emblems. The 3rd and final mold is the 4x4, V6 and SR5. This means on my second batch, IF I sell out, and place another order, I would be able to individually sell the emblems in those offerings.

As stated in still waiting to receive quotes from the other 2 companies. There seems to be pro's and cons to each manufacture. Once I receive a quote from all 3, I choose the one I believe will have the biggest benefit in terms of offering and price. I know a lot of people only would like certain emblems, so if I can provide this, at a reasonable price, this is my ultimate goal! I think this complete kit is already a bargain set at the current retail price. Just the Toyota emblem and Tacoma emblems would probably cost that from Toyota.

Stay tuned as I will have more info and final pricing available soon!

I might be if reasonable enough. Add the 4x4 badge too.

I'm thinking they will be fairly inexpensive. Because of the quantity I would only have the Tacoma emblems to start with. If I have enough orders I can look into 4X4, V6, SR5, limited, and perhaps the Toyota grill emblem, in black. However since I have to order 500 of each at a time it might be a while before I can order the others. Perhaps down the road I could offer a emblem set, but that would be after I ordered each lot of the emblems separately. They already responded to my email and I have sent them a image of the emblem. If they can I'll need to send them measurements or a emblem to have them replicate it. I'll keep you posted

Emblems will be this color. Believe it's a satin finish look. This is a sample the company did for replacement badges for a mustang 4.0. The size and font will be identical to the Toyota OEM emblems! This is just a sample to show you the color and texture.

If I gauge enough interest or pre orders I could get the ball rolling. I dont think I will be able to get a sample without paying for the mold cost upfront, which is expensive. So I won't have an actual set until they are all made. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

Update: I'm pushing hard to get them to create a complete set for me. The set would include: 1) Toyota front grill emblem, 2) Tacoma door emblems, 1) 4x4 emblem, 1) V6 emblem, and 2) SR5 emblems. All full replacement in a satin/matte black. Pricing is still currently unavailable until I can get a full quote.

There would not be a set with "limited" emblems unfortunately unless they too could fit in the mold. The molds are expensive to cast so if this takes off maybe after I placed and order and sold a bunch, I could make another set.

Seems I can do a set, however it's going to cost more to produce. Again this will be a full replacement set, of new (black) emblems for the Tacoma. Not overlays, full replacements. The kits will look identical to the OEM emblems just in black. I'm hoping pricing for the entire kit could be competitive and around what Nox-Lux is charging for there overlay kit $99. Perhaps I'd be able to offer TC members a special pricing or to the first 50-100 buyers. Below is Nox-Lux's kit for reference. Again my kit would be similar however, mine would be full replacement emblems, not overlays. Stay tuned for more updates

As above, I'd be interested for the right price. I'm not sure though that what I'd be happy spending would be what a manuf would need to charge to recoup their costs.

I have to get measurements over to them before I get pricing. I don't think it's going to be as cheap as I originally thought. Like I said currently I'm ball parking everything, I'll try to offer these for as little as possible, however I'll have a lot of money invested up front so I need to gauge interest before I pull the trigger. If they end up being $99 for a full set of 7) replacement emblems is there interest at that price point?

Believe me depending on how much the mold cost is, the manufacturing cost, the frieght, any taxes and fees, I'll do my best to offer TW members a fair and competitive price. I'm able to get a better price the more I order up front. However since I thought it would be easier to offer a complete set vs just the Tacoma badges for now, this is going to significantly raise the cost. Personally I think people would rather have a full complete matching set and pay a little more upfront, rather than only get door emblems and hope I sell enough of them to start more molds for the other emblems. In the end you would end up paying a lot more money to buy them separately like this, as each production run I would need to pay for a new mold, which isn't cheap.

I'm going to get some measurements over to them shortly so they can get me a estimate of what I'm looking at. This way I'll have an approximate price I'll be able to market these for.

Let me know what everyone thinks. If I can't gauge enough interest I won't be able to pull the trigger. True pricing to still come

Also if anyone can measure a SR5 badge for me quick I'd appreciate that

They will look very similar to these overlays. As for seeing what they look like on a black truck you could look at the black emblems on a black second gen Tacoma. Difference is mainly the font

I'm curious as to how you would align the new emblems. I know I'd have a tough time getting them to be aligned on either side of the truck without some sort of jig. Also, assuming there is some paint fade, would they be a perfect match with the OEM emblems? I'd hate to see "ghosting" (for lack of a better word) where the OEM emblems were.
