well the spacers nothing really I got tired of mine and took mine off the only issue I had with them where the front seat bar end links going real quick but mist auto parts store would give you limited lifetime warranty in other words don't mention the spacers but honestly just lifted the truck a little that's it

    Ignore this.

And ignore your craving to spend money you don't have on a truck you didn't pay for.

Get a job, get some cash in the bank. Or don't get a job and get cash in the bank.

I can only decipher half of this, but ignore this also.

OP has a prerunner not a 5 lug like your truck, and he asked about performance mods to begin with. Spacers aren't that.

No mod is cooler than driving $25k truck when you don't have a job.

And no truck with a fart can is cool. Ever.

I think about my regular cab this way: it's a 4 cyl truck and I will never win any drag races ever except for maybe against an old lady on a rascal. Not that sea racing is the only reason for wanting power upgrades. Do you have the manual transmission? That at least makes my truck feel more sporty once I'm up to speed.

Therefore since it is what it is I know I can make it a really useful and capable off roading vehicle that is still fun to drive since it's so short. I'm choosing to put money into maintenance and suspension upgrades (and maybe some cosmetic ones too ;)).

I do feel you about wanting more power but I think I'm going to wait until I get a car that I can mod easily for more performance and let my truck be my off road exploring device. That said if you want to get into performance mods with this go for it. Just make sure you use high quality parts like LCE, Doug Thorley, Gibson, or Magnaflow since putting junk on a great engine will always bite you in the end when you are asking for rides to the junk yard for old stock parts once cheap (garbage) aftermarket parts start making your truck immobile.

Anyway $1k is a big chunk of money and you can do some cool things with it for sure. Spend it wisely brother.
    :)

Don't do it! No matter what you do it isn't going to be sporty, and it won't increase the utility of the truck by any appreciable margin. The thousand dollars will be much more useful somewhere else in your life.

    Hey!
Get this product called IDrive. Its a throttle response controller. Helps the truck get going majorly! Get a chip, cold air intake and cat back exhaust. This will help big time.

That 2.7 rocks. Spend money on well made shoes that will make it easier to mash the pedal to the floor regularly and enjoy the MPG's that you will not get out of the six cylinder. Get a job, enjoy your Yota 2.7, save $$, buy a rocket of a car like a Supra that is worthy of upgrades. You will see minimal performance improvement out of the 2.7 (literally undetectable) without going in debt in a big way. $$ down the drain. Nobody shopping for the 2.7 Tacoma is concerned about speed related performance; only mileage, utility and reliability and on those measures that Taco 2.7 is top rate. Enjoy it stock...

It's been 4 years. I wonder if he spent the 1K on hookers and blow?

If it's a 4 banger you will never really make it into a sprint car or quarter miler. It is after all, a pickup truck. Enjoy the great gas mileage and reliability of start up and go every time you need to. If you go "dickin around with it", as we would say in the Navy, you are guaranteed to have to park it for a long time. If you want to go fast, keep socking away your money and buy a Celica or a Civic SR. Trust me, you will make your pops proud if you use it responsibly and keep it original. If you re-gift it to him in original condition, he may even help you get the new car.

20210611_131901.jpg 2019 tacoma SR 2.7L. with 2020 TRD pro wheels. I wouldn't put money on HP mods on a tacoma. I bought the 2.7L for reliability. Easier to work on when something breaks.
