^^^ This... Back in the days when I used to play mechanic at a garage, we'd check the new wires with an ohm meter. Quite a few were not too good right out of the box.

Could be a loose ground connection to the motor, happened to me before after timing belt/ WP replacement... forgot to tighten it down and had CEL flashing, bucking, eventually stalled and wouldn't turn over. check that first, could be damaged or loose

Welp the clamp failed but the boot was mint and there was still a decent amount of grease in the joint so I repacked it with more grease and replaced the clamp with a worm clamp.
The replacement axle from the dealer was 350....i said no to that. Or 150 for a remanned oem one from another company.

Now to figure out how to get this grease out of my hair and clothes.....

Saw in another thread NAPA has remanned for $70. One of my boots in split. Grease was everywhere. I cleaned it up last summer, but never used the boot kit. Only a matter of time before I need to replace the axle.

I guess. Although you would think since most people know me and have met me personally they would think about these things. Maybe it's a memory term thing? Maybe they have no alliance? Who knows??? Lol

Ok that makes sense! It was either that or you were an artist with grease. I guessed wrong.

Well shit... Y'all are some talented folks. I'm just a code monkey.

Unrelated, I've got a project idea. I've removed the jump seats in my AC and I'm going to be installing subwoofers that are as tall at the cubbies into the little footwells. Then I want to fab a platform like these: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/built-a-access-cab-platform-today.439668/

And here is the cool part. Then I want to attach a sheet of nylon with MOLLE sewn in from the platform to the headrest anchors. It would hang taught down to the platform. That would give me so much storage space and could look pretty neat.

JK, you know I'll likely be back as I keep breaking mirrors off the Ferd, especially now that we're coming into winter... :anonymous:

Speaking of this I had a guy order his third set of towing mirrors today. He's broke 2 of the same side. Funny but I feel bad for him at the same time
