Here we go, this has now happened 4 times in the past 6 days, while driving the truck will just shut off (WTF) lose all power, pull over hit the key and it starts right back up with no hesitation. Its almost like a kill switch is being activated. It seems to only happen when coasting. It has never done it while on the gas.Power seems to be fine, everything works. Cant be the battery because it starts right back up. Please help or good bye Tacoma hello 2017-Raptor.

Since OP is in Florida, his Tacoma probably was sold by Southeast Toyota Distributors, which is famous for putting in aftermarket alarm systems before the sale. Probably a malfunction or miswiring.

Found out today that it is the MAF sensor causing the issue. I recently installed a AFE - CAI which also had a front air scoop option trhat i put on the truck. Basically i'am getting to much air across the MAF sensor which is causing the truck to die. I learned that aftermarket company's dont fully test the items the sell. I called AFE and they are working on a solution to the problem. This is the kinda risk we take when doing mods.

Do you have an aFe oiled filter or an aFe pro dry filter?

@Mike991GT3 another shot in the dark to help you troubleshoot: do you have any aftermarket electronics or electrical equipment? Such as LED lights or HID bulbs, etc?
