Help!! Fractured AC Line Please Read!!

I agree, if you screw up admit to it and fix it. This is what I deal with and all I can tell people sorry we messed there is no excuse but I will fix it.

 

Yup just gotta own it and take responsibility, the money you spend to fix something will be nothing compared to the money you can lose when losing a loyal customer. I'm glad that they're gonna take care of it, they just needed a little more proof of the issue being related to their install.

 

Ooops didn't see this earlier but the winch was installed back in July, but just a few weeks after the bumper and winch were originally installed it was back with them again because they had to pull the bumper off to put the winch line abrasion sleeve on because it was forgotten upon the installation of everything else, my new fairlead that I had was also installed. It could have been put on correctly at first but then just a slight mistake may have been made the 2nd time.

 

What is the chance that the winch was installed correctly but drifted back with vibration / jarring?

 

Not sure, but I would think after it was properly bolted down that it wouldn't budge. I mean if it would move just from road vibration then thank god I haven't had to use it for recovery because otherwise that thing would have come right out of there. Could be a possibility though

 

Not necessarily. It's in slotted holes, it would get pulled to the front of the slots.

I wouldn't say that's the case, it's just something to consider.

 

Maybe I'll have to test it lol sounds like a testable theory for sure

 

I take it you never look at things .

Never saw your AC line could rub against your winch .

I Can`t say what your installer may have done I would have moved the line or protected it in some fashion

I like my AC way to much to let a line rub through

Then one needs to know working on vehicles for profit most often turns it into just a way to pay the bills.

 

What? I never look at things? I never thought it'd be an issue...

 

Any time any work is done you should look at things real close

 

Obviously... doesn't change the fact that they installed it improperly. It's not my fault they installed wrong? Sure could I have caught it earlier? Maybe, hindsight is 20/20. What reason would I have had to check that specific line before? I wouldn't have thought it to be an issue, of course now we know there's a problem because of the leak. I looked pretty closely at it when I picked it up. Didn't notice it then, until it actually broke.

 

Who can say maybe looking at things for 45 years it is a habit

Fixing things along side the road in -50 Temperatures all those years helped

In my case was not noticing a slight gasoline leak vapor formed something sparked kaboom lost the garage the vehicles the house .I was 14
